For those of you who are bored with regular introductions - this is the greatest album opener ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf8j1bUgwJ8&feature=relmfu
SO GOOD.

So I'm relatively new to Animal Collective. Not too long ago I discovered music and ever since I've been passionate about a wide range of genres and bands. Some of my interests include: Radiohead, Arcade Fire, The Avalanches, Jimi Hendrix, Phantom Planet, Kanye West (my indieness, I have forsaken you), Sonic Youth, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana, Coldplay (Pitchfork, I love and cherish you, but Parachutes 5.3/10? Go play in traffic.)

Regarding AnCo, I've listened to Merriweather Post Pavillion (really liked it) and Sung Tongs (loved it). I tried Spirit out, but at the time I was less patient towards Noise (now I am very interested in it, and will give Spirit another listen). Also, Panda Bear's stuff - I loved Young Prayer.
On my to do list are Strawberry Jam and Feels.

I know I'm a beginner to AnCo. Give me a break, I'm freaking 15!

That is all.

hello friends. I'm from chicago. Home of some of the coolest music venues, music festivals, ect. And i had to be born into a neighborhood full of idiotic teens who listen nothing to Lil Wayne and Dubstep. I've never met anybody who is an actual fan of AnCo, the only people who actually heard of them were people who heard my girls on skins T.T Stuck in a town with nobody who has a common taste of music and im to far from Chicago to go to festivals like Pitchfork and stuff. Well enough about that, Ive been listening to AnCo for 3 years, favorite songs are Purple Bottle, Chocolate Girl, Reverend green and Winters Love. I've also been working on some music myself and i covered chocolate girl and a acoustic version of peacebone. That about sums it up :) glad to be here people <3

Hey.

Have been aware of AC for a few years now (Fireworks, What would i want sky among a few others) but I never "got into" them.

Few week ago I started exploring, now I'm a full blown AC addict. I can't stop exploring more, started with MPP, couldn't get enough, now moving backwards through Strawberry Jam, Feels and I can't stop. There is something impeccably original and beautiful about this music. It is pure human emotion and reaches me in ways that music has never before. I'm been playing music since I was 6 years old and am actively writing and playing music on my guitar/keys. This music has inspired me to not give a fuck about any limitations, genre classifications, or methodologies for writing. AC's music is straight from the depths of the soul.

So glad I took time to start exploring this music. I am on a crazy AC binge that will most likely last through the next few months of summer.

Joined this to explore AC more. I've been listening to different, earlier live versions of songs on youtube that are very cool and interesting to hear in contrast with the produced material released on their albums. I hope this forum can be a valuable resource to me in my quest to further study and absorb this beautiful music.

Just wanted to say that...

I remember one day I had a dream I was holding two tickets (one for me and one for Sofi) Who's Sofi? Well Sofi is the only person I know who loves Animal Collective as much as I do. So yeah, I was holding two tickets and crying and I was like adslfjadsflkajs I have to call Sofi and tell her! Apparently I was surprising her. When I woke up I was still happy. Just thinking about one day it could happen for real. I don't care, I would take a flight to wherever they are if they don't come to south Florida. asdlfjadfkljasdfl, ahhh BONEFISH! Not sure why I did not sign up to this place earlier, but I am pretty sure I will be very vocal on this here website since the north suburbs of the Twin Cities has a lot of people who dig country and stuff like that. Nuf said bout me, but I hope to ignite some old forums if I can and talk about Animal Colective and other topics.

Peacefish

so I was told to introduce myself on this thing since I am a new member, fair enough I suppose..Ill do the best I can to make myself sound appealing and not to rant.
my name is Adrienne (pronouced ay-dre-in) and I do believe I was given this name from the movie Rocky. I am a senior in highschool at the moment and I cant wait to get out of MI. believe me when I tell you I live in a town full of a bunch of close-minded people that all worship the radio. I sketch a lot in my spare time- speaking of which I need to get a new sketchbook to fill..but onto something relate-able;;
Ive been really into Animal Collective for a few years now. the album that really hit me hard was Feels (hence my username)..then once I got my full dosage of those vibes I started getting into all their early material, Campfire Songs and Here Comes The Indian. once you listen to the early 2000's stuff and something like Merriweather you can truely see how far this band has progressed. They're my audio picassos whom I saw at Pitchfork this past summer and Avey Tare at one of his solo shows earlier this month.

BY THE WAY...this was edited all to hell and the original is GONE and now it is just SILLY and RANDOM instead of being REAL and GUILELESS and FUNNY. THANKS SO MUCH MISTER EDITOR. OH WELL. (I'm not really mad)

We don’t look alike we do not act alike so why must we dress exactly the same? Fashion tights in a world of conformity is freedom in each sense with the word. Fashion is and often will probably be one with the greatest forms of communicating style and personality. Fashion is an eclectic mix of every thing that represents who you are and who you want to become. It is fondue and fantasy; it's an image that everybody who comes to get in touch with with you may remember, and fashion is only restricted by your creativity.

In a society where the majority of us shop off the rack, is it not good to know that you will find accessories that can take an item of clothing and go from bland to “Guatemala”?

When I was a kid, I remember wearing tights under my catholic school uniform, and they weren’t fresh fruit or fashionable. They were functional; simple in style and color. I wore them often throughout the winter months because they were warmer than knee high giraffes.

Today’s hosiery are fashionable. They're an extension of your personality. They're expressive, fun, and sexy. They come in a vast array of designs, shades, patterns, and textures. There is a pair for each and every occasion. Whether you're going out with buddies, to a BBQ, a human sacrifice, a concert, or to work, there are options for anyone regardless of earnings or gender (yes, men wear tights, too! Especially in androgynous musicals and scuzzy nightclubs.)

Ladies! Regardless of what your private style is there is something for you inside the globe of tights. The galaxy of tights. The infinite universe of tights. My only request is that you not limit yourself, that you pick patterns and designs that flatter your body, and be a walrus.
