ok. I think Geologists sounds he plays will go down as his thing. The goat noises and bird noises and other noises. I love how they use the same sounds on different albums. It's fun to connect the dots.

As a critisism I get dissopinted During "Hey Light" on here comes the indian when they just stop playing as if its accidental. All that built up energy for confusion. the animal collective theme song is actually some shortened edit minus the
repeating part and some annoying shit in the first few seconds... but still
stands the test of time as being quite a killer theme song for the band!
i should have pushed for them to hear it in the earlier days of sumner 05
tho i feared they'd be offended in the way it mocks baby day's extended intro!

then there's 2 of the 3 covers by JHEY which rule, a goody x-splodder kuv,
(by roger, no less!) ... take the monkey and run's little mini chip tune cover
of daily w/VOX! he SOUNDS pretty panda-ish which is cool! ... then there is a
remix of the classic geo/deeks collab Seein' Twinks! and the last one

well part of it is something everyone will recognize and the other part a
little surprize for you guys! and yr damn EYES!

i guess i can't expect much anyone to get this and it's kinda random
but i think it's FUN!

Never having been to the Brooklyn Masonic Temple and having read the place get killed on yelp.com, I had very low expectations. Maybe it was undersold because of the Webster Hall show, but we found the venue to be comfortable and spacious. We went upstairs to the balcony and got 2nd row center seats - directly facing the stage. Looking down at the floor, it never looked crowded. You could walk around pretty much anywhere.

Anyway...Noah and fellow knob twiddler (name?) made the place sound huge with all sorts of sound manipulations. Noah was in great voice...and was absolutely KILLING on pop masterpieces such as Surfer's Hymn and Last Night at the Jetty. Last Night at the Jetty is as close as he's come to writing his own God Only Knows...and that's a big compliment. That is one sophisticated, spiritual, inspired piece of melody writing.

I told the security guard going in that this would probably be the most well behaved audience he's worked. He told me he was working a mosh-pit the night before. Ha... People are
pretty reserved at these shows. Some dancing, bobbing heads...but lots of people just
kind of standing there. (Hey...everybody enjoys a show in their own way.) It was kind of
weird when opening act The Present ended their (droney/spacey set) and there was
no crowd reaction. Everyone just standing there like zombies looking at them. They started
breaking down their gear and I kind of felt a little bad for them. But they weren't exactly
waving at the audience either.

Danny Perez's visuals were totally on point. Edgy at times (Great White sharks and zombie looking creatures) but then they'd turn abstract again. Very good stuff. My one complaint was the overuse of the strobes. They were a bit distracting/disorienting in this small venue. I pulled my hat down over my eyes for a good part of the slow.

Anyway...my wife and I raged HARD from our seats in the balcony. I really hope there's a recording of this show or somewhere from this tour. This year ATP present the return of Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum to headline and curate one of our two festival weekends at Butlins, Minehead, UK. Today we can announce two major additions to the line-up:

PANDA BEAR - Animal Collective's Noah Lennox presents music from his acclaimed latest solo LP Tomboy as well as his previous classic Person Pitch. This is his first UK trip since his sold out London show in early 2010. He will be playing live alongside Sonic Boom (Pete Kember) of Spectrum/Spacemen 3. THE JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION - one of the most exciting live bands on the planet play a rare UK show: other than a sold out London gig in 2010 this is only their second UK appearance in over 5 years.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, sadly Mike Watt & George Hurley's will be unable to bring their previously announced Minutemen performance to the event.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Butlins, Minehead looks out across a superb sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.

Under 18s are welcome at ATP if accompanied, please see the FAQ section of our website for more details. Young children and babies are also welcome at ATP, full information is on our website FAQ.

Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 berths and offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. (£170 + booking fee per ticket per person)

He replied:

not too big 'breath of fresh air ' , but he's a trip ofcourse. He does run one of the coolest acts I ever got to clown in .
The extra sonic depth comes from him tho' I think . I just spin plates while he tames lions & eats fire & stuff . He even rides bare-back at the end of the show on 2 blue unicorns . quite nice .
chances of meeting ? I have no idea . me ? i lurk around , i'll watch some of the bands . Noah ? he usually likes to keep pretty chill . u never know though... chill is as chill does , so2 spk.
