http://www.spin.com/articles/spins-100-greatest-guitarists-all-time

In the spirit of this momumental list, I also present to you a list by yours truly:

Claude's 10 Greatest Pianist of All Time

10) Skrillex - Look, as far as I know, our asymmetrically coiffed party pal has never sat at a piano in his life. But no contemporary musician has a more primal understanding of adrenaline-pumping, pulse-raising, chest-caving bulldozer chordss than dubstep mosh ambassador Skrillex. Somewhere between the unfiltered piston-pumps of neo-classical and the twinkling minimalist melodies that weaned him is a gaping sarlacc of yawping melodies and buzzsaw edges. The bass drop to "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" might just be this generation's "Smoke on the Water" — look no further than the obscene number of "Skrillex piano cover" videos on YouTube!

9) Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia Mozart - A highly acclaimed harpsichordist and fortepianist in her childhood. If woman did anything besides make and raise children in the 1700's she would have out-Mozarted Mozart. Oh wait... you thought I was going to include Mozart in this list? Well fuck you!

8) Ralf Hütter (Kraftwerk) - He's so good you can't even tell when he's playing the calculator or the keyboard!

7) Lady Gaga - She can play piano with her feet!

6) Joanna Newsom - We speak in the store, I'm a sensitive bore. You seem markedly more, and I'm oozing surprise. But it's late in the day, and you're well on your way. What was golden went gray, and I'm suddenly shy. And the gatherin' floozies; afford to be choosy. And all sneezing darkly, in the dimming divide. And I have read the right books to interpret your looks. You were knocking me down with the palm of your eye!

5) Christopher Bear (Grizzly Bear) - He wrote the piano part for "Two Weeks"... I think? He played it live on Letterman, so hell, 5th greatest piano player ever.

4) Claire Boucher (Grimes) - She can sing AND play the keyboard at the same time! Shit!

3) Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir (Kría Brekkan) - I like Animal Collective, and the album Feels contains her piano playing, therefore, Kristín.

2) Geir Jenssen (Biosphere) - Although he doesn't technically play the piano, it's what he's did to the sound of piano pieces in his iconic remix album Shenzhou.

1) Claude Debussy - You all knew it was coming. Right?

Greatest Moment - When he performed his brilliant piano composition "Claire De Lune" to wild applause from the Ethiopian audience.

I wrote this in a previous thread, but there seem to be no responses to it.

Helpers Wanted For Gets
The Gets section pretty much contained all the live shows, videos, and DVDs. If you have any of these and would like to submit them please continue reading.

I, this site's admin, need a group of five or so people. My internet connection isn't the fastest so it would take me too long to put all the files back online. I'll need help to get them on the server. I'll need the group to use FTP to upload the files. If you're not familiar with it, that could be a problem. However, you can still help by downloading the files that the others have sent and test them to see if they are broken or if they contain viruses.

Once an archive (a ZIP file) has been approved as not being broken and being safe, I'll move them to the main site so that people can download them.

If you're interested post here.

The site was attacked sometime yesterday. It is unclear how it happened, though it could likely have been through our ZenPhoto gallery. The attack left the site completely empty, with the downloads, photos, site templates, all gone. You should change your passwords if you used them on this site. However, it is unclear what was done with the databases since they remained intact.

I've currently moved the site to a new web host and installed Vanilla forums to replace phpBB3. It may look a bit different, but I'm sure everyone will familiarize themselves with it soon.

I'll try to restore the site during the following week.

If you would like to help return some of the media files to the site, please post here.

Updates:

Dec 1st 2011,
Lyrics and Discography are back online.

Nov 30th 2011,
News is back online.

Hello, people.
On the "old board" we kept topics grouped together. If you had a dream, you'd post it in the Dream Thread. If it got posted somewhere else, I could move it over to the Dream Thread.
This new style is forcing me as moderator to abandon a lot of things I once did (like the Activity Feed, it is no longer linear, it is like an expanding ring of foam).

Posts cannot be flagged.
Topics can't be congregated or split or moved and I can't follow a damn thing.
Basically all I can do now is decline memberships and hope everyone here is getting along.

SO...let me know, via PM, if you need something done! Because I just can't participate like I did nor can I read even a fraction of what's here.

Love,
Your Faithful, Frazzled, Moderatrix
