  • Atlanta: Verizon Amphitheatre Friday 7/8/11 - yippee! Georgians, where ya at?

And I get to see them 2x in 1 week now! (Atlanta and P'fork Fest in Chicago) Double yippee!
  • OK, this may be driveable.

Edit: Where was this announced? Can't find tickets.
  • I don't think it's been announced yet. My friend works for Ticketmaster and gave me the heads' up yesterday. Insider information....that's about all her job at the evil TM is good for. ;)
  • If you hear of any Florida shows, please let me know. It's at least 1000 miles round trip to anywhere outside of FL... Fuckin' peninsula.
  • Here are the dates announced today, via Pitchfork...I see an Orlando stop on there!

    05-14 Minehead, England - All Tomorrow's Parties
05-16 Eastbourne, England - Winter Gardens

  • Hopefully they announce most US dates... I NEED to see them this year!!!
  • ORLANDO! WOO!
  • Maryland!! This is such great news!
  • I will be at the Atlanta show, as will deadfly, he was the one who texted me.

THIS IS A GLORIOUS DAY. Portal 2 and going to see the AC

I saw Arcade Fire here. Place is damn big but if we get there early I'm sure we can get a good spot, it's a nice pit even though it's going to be really hot.

    still stoked it's outdoors
  • Sweet! Yeah it's a nice venue, but it gets soooo hot. It's like a bowl underneath the roof, traps all the heat. And mid-July, too. We gonna sweat it out.
  • Beats chastain and Lakewood though.

    Gonna be there Sooooooooo early!
  • Ugh Lakewood is the worst. I don't mind Chastain, except for the people. And it's easy to get free tickets there because of all the comps.

So tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am, $30 for ALL tickets!! Definitely going for pit and will definitely be at the show early. We should all meet for one of their tasty frozen drinks before the show. :)
  • 30$ for ALL shows?? What?
  • WHAT A DEAL!

How are they going to sell well at these places!?
  • $30 for all tickets, seats and GA, @ the Atlanta show. Don't know prices for other shows.
  • Funk Raga!
  • Let's goooooo....! I assume Wini will also be attending.
  • I hope to be there, I really really want to go!
  • this is place is big enough that they could bring the "Coachella Cubes"! :o

I'll see you there! I was planning on driving all the way to Chicago (got the tickets to Pitchfork music festival and everything) until I found out about this show, which is less than an hour away.

Love that the tickets are cheap and the venue is small – usually provides a much more personal experience than at a festival.
  • Look for a long haired guy in tie dye.

Edit: New dates announced. Going to Culture Room. Can't find tickets, though! >__<
  • If its a small venue you're gonna have to be QUICK getting tickets... just warning you.

Big Sur sold out in four seconds
  • WHAT?! You're kidding. Right? That's fucking ridiculous.
  • Nope... Haha
  • Wow! Verizon seats 12000 people. How many seats do you guys expect them to sell?

What do you think of them playing such a large venue?
  • Verizon is huge! Pit area is small. Is that what you meant?

And tix go on sale Friday @ 10am.
  • ^ ^ ^ ^ For ALL east coast shows?
  • I meant how well will our boys adapt to a large venue?

My opener wish list is: Ariel Pink, Black Dice, Grouper, some form of Bradford Cox
  • And don't worry, this will not sell out like Big Sur. It's in fucking Alpharetta, which is 45 min north of downtown. And on a Friday with Atlanta shitty traffic. Kinda pissed about the venue, but at least it's outside.

For ATL show, not sure about the others. Info should be up on Ticketbastard.
  • alrightee. Thank you. I'm really hoping to go to the MPP show. wonder how much that'll be.

MPP is also pretty big, right? I kinda hope they do a weird, freakout show just to piss off the suburbanites! Hah.

And openers, hmm...who else is heading up to P'fork? Oh yeah, DEERHUNTER! A double Ben Allen production! Atlanta represent! And let's add Black Lips for extra fun.
  • MPP should be incredible! I've heard it's a really big venue too. No worries about selling out super quick...

Anyone that goes has to take pics and video!
  • I will be definitely! I'm so excited! I'm going who knows how early. I want to get up FRONT. Is that even possible? I sure hope so.
  • Be sure to get a ticket in the pit! AHHH AC better announce a full US tour soon.

I simply must see them this year >__<
  • Hey, do you know if all the AC tix are being sold through ticketmaster? I only see three dates up there at the moment.
  • I think they're selling them starting on the 22nd. But don't listen to me, I'm probably wrong... ha
  • I can't find info for other shows. My TM friend only has access to certain ticketing systems. I think it's safe to say that if the on-sale info has not been posted yet, then you have some time. Sorry I can't help! Just come to Atlanta, everyone! I mean, Alpharetta...sigh...
  • Lol, right? I'd be totally down if someone lends me 400 bucks for gas and a hotel.

3rd and final Edit: if anyone saw that list, disregard. It's from 2 years ago! Lol.
  • HAHA I was wondering what was going on! Darn, I got all excited for ATP stateside again. Oh well, I've still got 'em 2x in 1 week! ATL-->CHI
  • That's pretty sick.
  • Yes! Hi! Hello! Yes, I will be going! Buying tickets now! If I can! Couldn't stop to read whole thread! Wow! Yay!
  • Yay! We should congregate and give them something from AC.org!!
  • Man, it looks like a lot of you are going to the Atlanta show. My home town, which is where I'll be during the summer, is 7 hours from Merriweather Post Pavilion and 5 hours from Atlanta. So I think I'm going to try to go to MPP because I think that would be pretty historical. If the ticket prices are the same then I'll almost definitely go to MPP. But who knows. I might end up picking Atlanta anyway.
  • Breaking News! My Ticketmaster friend just called me and said they are changing the entire seating arrangement for the Atlanta show to General Admission. I can't say I'm happy about this since I wanted to get pit tickets tomorrow and have a secure spot up front. So now it is even more critical to get there super, duper early to get the best spots. The only good thing about the change is we don't have to stress about buying tickets right at 10am tomorrow. And if you want to get a seat up front right behind the pit, that is now possible.

Oh and in case you didn't notice, the fucking TM fee is $10.65 on a $30 ticket. So tickets are $40.65. TicketBASTARDS!
  • Hey I'm only 20 minutes from Alpharetta so great for me

We need to meet them togetherz!!! Wini should give us tips on how to meet them!
  • Do you guys think that tickets will go on sale for all shows at 10 EASTERN? I'm in central time zone right now and I'm planning on getting up five minutes before the MPP tickets go on sale. Which would be 9:00 for me.
  • If you are going to the Atlanta show, PM me. I doubt I could arrange any kind of meet-the-band but I promise an adventure. The MPP show is the next day so they will probably get in the bus and drive off or sleep. They are daddies now.
Dan, I assume all TM times are EST.

Where do you see the MPP tickets on sale? I only see 3 dates on TM right now - Atlanta, Brooklyn and PA.

And on a side note, shout out to the 'Boro! I'm from Nashville and drive home to visit fam/friends regularly! :D
