• Got mine, too! Now onto the tailgate planning...who's bringing leftover 4th of July "Fireworks"?
• I got 2 tickets (in case someone needs one) and a getting a hotel room. Please PM me if you want to go en masse!
• Got mine. For MPP that is. I got on right at 10, hoping to get GA Floor seats. But I guess since I bought mine along with my two friends' tickets, for some reason it wouldn't give me Floor seats even though they were clearly still available (I checked if I had just bought one instead of three and sure enough it would've been a GA Floor seat. And keep in mind this is via TicketFly not Ticketmaster. They didn't give the option of selecting where you wanted your seats). But no biggy. I'm still extremely close and it's going to be awesome!!
• that feeling when everyone is going to see Animal Collective except for you ;_;
• Having a debate with myself on whether or not to go ahead and buy a ticket for the Atlanta show. I'd like a friend of mine to come with me, but he won't be able to buy his ticket right now. Should I go ahead and buy mine? Decisions, decisions...
• Everybody on here got GA Orchestra right?
• Woohoo, got tickets for Orlando. Gen. admission so I can hear FOH sound and not get crushed by people up front. Gonna see about rounding up some kind of digital tape recorder. Anyone know if AC is officially taper friendly (specifically, has anyone ever seen stands for mics in the crowd?)

Since it's all GA now, your friend should have no problem getting a ticket later on.

• Just bought my MPP tickets!! I can't put into words how excited I am for this! Just me and my lady friend going.
• So, I'm in row LL in the center. That's actually pretty far away. Do you guys know of any tips/ideas on how to get closer at MPP? Or, is it once you've been assigned a seat, you can't move very much between seats? What if I get there very early? Does that make any difference? I'm just trying to get closer to AC if there is any possible way.

The only people who will need to get there early are the ones who were able to get the General Admission tickets, which I don't think there were many of seeing as how they were already sold out when I ordered my tickets at 10:00 on the dot! This will be my first time going though, so don't take my word for it. It's just my experience with other venues leads me to believe that you're pretty much stuck where you are. But it will still be amazing. And you don't seem to be too too far away.
• This is so exciting, that so many of us will be able to see them on this tour!
• Yeah yeah. Does anyone know how the SOUND is around that area at MPP? I hope it does the AC justice.
• Hell to the yes. Also, it seems likely that event staff would make you stay put, but it's worth a shot if those neon-shirted enforcers aren't wandering around. I had assigned seats (great seats though, I think they were row 5) for Phish on New Years 2010, and I was able to wander out into the aisles by the 2nd and 3rd sets since everyone else was doing it. Also, amphitheaters are amphitheaters, acoustics really don't have much effect unless there's an unusual natural formation, a la Red Rocks. Assuming AC travels with a PA system with sufficient power (since you need multitudes more power to play outside than you do for indoor shows) to not audibly distort when they turn up as loud as it needs to be, it should be fine. If they're using the venue's speaker arrays in addition to their own speakers onstage, then I don't really know what it'll sound like.
• Just bought my ticket to the ATL show!
• Thank you Dave! I know I will love to see them live. I just hope that the sound is good from where I am. And I hope I can see THEM move on stage. Not just on a screen. But perhaps I'm being a bit too picky.
• oh wow, when the day comes that the majority of fans are watching Animal Collective on a jumbotron at a show is the day I...I...I don't know exactly what I threaten to do, but by george, I will do something.

• I agree. Stadiums would be lame. It's awesome that they're gaining recognition and spreading their sound to many.. But it just loses that crowd/band intimacy... Or connection. Connection may be a better word. I have NO idea what to expect from the MPP show. I just hope the sound is alright and that I can see them somehow. I wish it was a small little venue. Like the shows they used to play in New York.. MMM. That'd be tasty to see.
• I am excited for all of you! I hope they come back here after this so I can see em with a better crowd. xD

i miss the days of being stood in front of avey and being literally 2 or 3 feet away from him i could have reached out and touched faith / feet!
• i wish i could have seen them in 06, that was the perfect mix between Strawjam and Feels.
• they should do a tour where they play old albums in full OR only old stuff [but not the old stuff they have been playing the last 4 years] you know? that'd be a dream! one can only wish though! so many missed out on so many great songs and so many songs disappeared forever too quick though they have brought back quite a bit... but compared to most bands it is super super new song heavy
• Ok so if we get there SUPER early, do we have a chance at meeting them? Already met Deeks but must spread the love and get them to sign something. How early should we meet?
• Man! I wish I were going to the Atlanta show instead of the Merriweather one. I want to meet them but I'm betting it's near impossible at MPP.
• personally i'd rather not meet the band. they are my favorite band and everything but i think knowing them through the music they made is enough and anyway all meeting them would be is an awkward smile and a handshake, maybe get their scribbles on something of mine (theirs?) than i'd make a strange comment and walk away or something "hey man, i like your style."
• Haha. Is it okay to COMPLETELY change my opinion from my previous comment? Because I definitely agree with you 100%. I don't think I'd want to meet them. It would ruin everything that I think about them just by knowing their music. And the awkwardness! I would just rather not. Good point DeREK.
• its fine to completely change your opinion, happens to me all the time. but i'm glad you do agree with me cos i thought i was pretty much the only one who thought that way.
• It's fine, you and John Kerry would make great pals. JUST KIDDING! Seriously, I change my opinion constantly as well.
• ha if you want to talk politics i'll go wake up my mommy and brother..
• NO! Please. I really, really don't.
• lol perfect answer Dave
• I actually like meeting bands after shows. I usually talk to them briefly and get a picture with them. It makes me happy. However, I'm fine with not meeting bands after shows. It's not something I feel like I have to do.
• I kind of feel like, if I don't do it, I may turn into a muffin. [youtube]
• Yeah, it may make you happy. But they meet so many people after shows. It doesn't mean anything for them and I know it'd be awkward for both of us. I just would rather keep what I picture them to be like in my head. Where it belongs!
• I hope to get there way before and do it that way. Just pop in and say hi and thanks. And I do really like signatures!
• Yeah. I won't lie.. I would like a signature. But I highly doubt I'll get any chance to get some at the MPP show. What do you all fink?
• Buy a concert shirt, bring a Sharpie, get there early, and give it a shot. Worst case scenario: you've got a cool new shirt and time to check out the venue.
• TOO TRUE. I plan on getting there early. I'm so excited. First live Animal Collective experience for dis guy!
• Same here. Very excited.
• I don't wanna get a shirt signed cause then I'll never want to wear it! I'ma bring a DISC
• Haha, that's a good point. But hey, if you get a signed shirt, imo, just grab another afterward and put the signed one up on the wall.
• Whadayoo think, I'm MADE of money? I'm just a kid! :p
• Well, I suppose, but I just think it'd be worth it if you have an extra $20 or however much a shirt costs. If you don't, then I guess what I said doesn't apply to you.
• I hope to get my tickets this week!
• I live in Atlanta and I can't tell you how happy I was to hear they will be playing here. Verizon is a pretty nice venue, a bigger venue than I thought they'd choose, but the acoustics there are really good. Arcade fire played here in August and blew the roof off of the amphitheater. My plan for that Friday is to tailgate heavily and get in early for a good spot since it is going to be all general admission. If anyone is interested in meeting up with my friend and I at the tailgate, PM me and we'll connect on facebook. Also, if you're an out of towner and the only thing keeping you from coming is the expense of a hotel, let me know. My place isn't huge but I'd be happy to let anyone crash on the floor, just bring a pillow and a blanket. I wouldn't even extend this offer to family, but you're AC fans and I understand and share your obsession. Cheers
• Well, we were already talking about some plans: a fair sized contingent is going. It's up to the group; it's a few months away still but it would be nice to have a consensus.
