Being a fan for like four years, I have obviously come across this website on various occasions, but I never knew about this part!!! Um the love I have for this musical group is otherworldly. Like literally. they make me feel indescribable emotions and I cry every other time I listen to their songs (also because I am a total loser softie but whatever). They are so beautiful in every way and I am always amazed by how they are such good friends with the same bizarre ideas. I think they were brought together by supernatural forces in order to make these sounds that grace our souls. Just kidding. But not really actually. It is super creepy but I feel a strong spiritual bond with them and their music sends me afar into a completely separate plane of meditation. I am probably freaking all of you out. so maybe I should just be like, hi my name is Sofi; I am an artist and tamagotchi caretaker and I like aliens and fairy tales. Also can I casually bring up that Danny Perez is my cousin? No? Ok. Well, if you are interested, you can view my portrait of Our Boys by scrolling down a bit on this page of my online portfolio: http://sofipujolart.carbonmade.com/projects/3801371 Sorry if I just scared everyone with my freakish obsession and sorry if my run-on sentence issue is off-putting, but if any of you are still even reading, can we be friends please? I would be honored. Ok take care~~~
I will be the first in saying that I too have freaked people out on this board, but they will forget about it and we don't judge anyway, except that DIScoJohn Song.
Danny is your cousin, that is pretty damn cool, what a trippy relationship, THE COLORS!
Yet another person from Miami, the hell. That makes a purplebotthell, Dave, Yukbon, SOFI, hell I can't keep ya'll straight in my mind.
Lets be friends, SuperSonicSofi.
BTW I loved your art, unlike that DiscoJohn Song (Don't listen to it, your soul will be shattered)
Who is this disco John?? : x And what! Really?? So many Miami people! When I lived there I was totally made fun of daily for being so "weird." I never in a million years would have guessed that such a majority of its natives love this music too!! But I live in the frozen Denver now omg I miss the ocean so much it pains me. And thank you so much; I am happy you like my art! : 3 yes let's be friends!
woah! ... you should get HIM on the board! (no wait... don't.... then others would probably come and bug him!...) but that's super cool
i have a few relatives that i guess make some art but none that are known...
the closest "famous" relative i have is named Lee de Forest:
Lee De Forest (August 26, 1873 – June 30, 1961) was an American inventor with over 180 patents to his credit. De Forest invented the Audion, a vacuum tube that takes relatively weak electrical signals and amplifies them. De Forest is one of the fathers of the "electronic age", as the Audion helped to usher in the widespread use of electronics. He is also credited with one of the principal inventions that brought sound to motion pictures.
He was involved in several patent lawsuits and he spent a substantial part of his income from his inventions on the legal bills. He had four marriages and 25 companies, he was defrauded by business partners (as well as defrauding business partners himself), and he was once indicted for mail fraud, but was later acquitted.
He typically signed his name "Lee de Forest."
one of my middle names (i have 2!) is de Forest (small d e space capital F!) and i often forget if there are one or two Rs in the Forest (to forget one's own name? oh god!)
Hail and Welcome Sofi who is not the Sofi of the FofiSofi but is her Sofiness unto herself! WOO! Sit back, relax, enjoy, do not be afraid, EVER. It is not a game so there are no losers. It's just a ride. We have a few conglomerates, Atlanta and Miami being two. Places Where It Snows can be another.
I lived north of Atlanta in a gross mountain town for three ish years. Ok internet destiny brought me here that is all~~~ I am Sofiness unto myself! This is inspiring. Hahaha. Thank you!!
We have MoonDog in Denver (in your area), the Miami bunch, Tabelz/Deadfly and some others in A-Town, a couple homegirls and boys in LA/Cali, Me and G.O in Minnesota, Penny in Denmark, Clayson in England, We had Phantom from New Zealand, We have two new members from the upper great lakes, We have a slew of canadian girls, Something, TerrorToast, We Tigers, so yeah we come from all over.
(We need some location thing by our avatars, like the old days, because there are probably some mistakes and a lot of people I left out of this)
This is magical. I want to say hello to moondog!! I don't know very many people here in Denver! Should I say hello or would that be weird? And a location thing would be fab. I can't change my avatar : (
I take offense (not reall)! I am an american through and through though I border Canada. I'm from Maine. I have often dreamed of moving to Canada though. Welcome!
F!!! I always thought you were from Canada eh. I am sorry, I've been to Maine though and it was very nice there, I like ze blueberries, lobster, and other food stuff from there.
Yet another reason for the location thing on the side!
i beat the first one on NES by cheating (game genie!)
way too hard otherwise
i also beat the SNES one (link to the past) the GAME BOY one (links awakening!) the 2 N64 ones (ocarina! one of best games of all time! majoras mask! super undergrated!)
and that's it!
i'd rank the ones i played
1. OCARINA OF TIME 2. MAJORAS MASK 3. LINK THE THE PAST 4. LINKS AWAKENING
5. NES ORIGINAL (bleh!)
i also don't like the Metroid NES original but the game boy one (II) is fun and Super Metroid is one of the best ever
i kinda stopped after N64 and missed out on a LOT of zelders, metroids & marios
No I only played NES games with my cousins when I would visit them because my parents were super anti-video games when we were little... Which was the only time when relevant video games were good! :' ( Until my friend gave me her gameboy~~
Silver and Gold were cool, along with sapphire and ruby. They all consumed my time through the long borring family road trips of North Dakota, that and Queen. R U Ready Freddy!
Sofi-sofiness, I'm glad you immediately caught the vibe of the board and are happy. Feel free to do what you feel, go ahead and PM anyone you want. Moondog, aka Doc, is sweet. We all are.
Ames Iowa, that where I'll be next year for college.
They got a nice bowling alley there, literally there is nothing except the alley in the entire town, and there we could have an ACORGI bowl party thing.
I am not a fan of small towns but that actually sounds really nice hahaha. I am college-bound this fall too! And thank you!! Yes I am really liking Denver. I love how there are events all the time! I don't like how I don't know enough people to actually go to said events ah! Haha. It seems everyone is in Florida..
Hello, and thank you!! : 3 Ooh maybe we can have an exclusive cruise and everyone from here will get on. And AnCo can play every night. And then we can be in said ocean, right in the middle! Ok best plan.
oh, i live in miami as well. so yeah, probably more in florida than any other state on this forum, i think there's at least 4 (counting moondog, right now.)
I once found this group that was seriously a Mexican version of Animal Collective and I hate myself for forgetting the name... Do we have members of non-English-speaking places?
Is it El Guincho? They're like the Spanish Animal Collective but not nearly as good.
And Dave, I was up in Jacksonville. Back today. My whole extended family lives there and we were just meeting up. Speaking of which, my cousin is on the tv device down in FL on Mayo Clinic commercials. That would be really weird if you've seen her before on there.
