• yes, enlighten Zebra! And you are important Wini! You were here before me, so therefore, I look up to you. I think of you as the motherly figure around here, for no good reason at all. Also, GO! Are you the kid on the left, getting pretend shot in the head? I mean, that must be you. I have no idea who that other guy is! This picture is in general just confusing me!
• ah you must have missed the magik of a little band called CRAZY TOWN! come my lady come come my lady yr my butterfly SUGAR baby! [they were so much more than just this one song!]
• ahahahaha! I do remember that band (and only that song)! Crazy crazy! He looks crazy for sure.
• OH yeah, he wore a D.A.R.E shirt.
• Well ask away and I can tell ya anything you guys wanna know. And woot crazy town, i only knew of that one song they did. Never heard of them again lol.
• if you don't mind, why do you have one? also, (stupid question) so you just get to smoke wherever you want?
•
if you don't mind, why do you have one? also, (stupid question) so you just get to smoke wherever you want?
I ripped my shoulder roughly 4 years ago playing baseball. It stopped my whole season and I've been in pain ever since. My shoulder never healed right since the doctors I was going to at the time, didn't really seem to understand my problem. Now its a few years down the line, I have scar tissue that has formed around my shoulder blade. I deal with pain everyday along with tingliness that travels all over my back. I have taken many different pain pills and muscle relaxers, but nothing has worked as well as smoking does for me. Pills tend to give me a tummy ache, so this was the best solution for me. And no, having a card doesn't mean I can smoke whenever or where ever, it just means that if i were to be pulled over with something on me, i would be let go(and get to keep my stuff). It also provides me access to safe places where I can purchase my medication.
• thanks for the info, I know so very little about medical marijuana and what its legitimate uses are. Its nice to become a little more educated. That sounds like an incredibly awful injury. I'm sorry to hear that. Its great that you have found something that helps you, and that you can actually use it without having to worry about any reprocutions for sure.

Do they have medical cards available where you live?
• It actually just got approved and passed last November. Just barely passed, actually. I think it was allowed before to some extent, like you just needed to have a physician’s note or something, but the actual card is a new thing. A lot of people around here (I know this from living with very conservative grandparents), are afraid that legalizing medical marijuana will lead to legalizing the drug all together. They are generally pretty misinformed when it comes to topics like this.
• Same with my grandma haha. I haven't yet told her that I use it medically. I don't think that she would understand. Then again she is very old fashioned and thinks that everything is wrong, even me being with my girlfriend steady. lol. As much as this as gotten off topic, i gotta admit i love AC
• haha, our threads always go off topic here! my grandparents are incredibly old fashioned. Just the generation gap. To bring it back to topic, I guess, GO! Is so lucky to have met the guys. I wish we could get them to visit us here!
• Was that GO in the picture? I had no idea
• it is! that's our GO! Sportin' a wicked beard!
• BEARDO WEIRDO! i feel kinda odd! i feel just like god! i feel kinda weird! like i grew a weird beard!
• So how did you end up getting to meet them? like where are you guys chilling at?
• each time it was just after the show! ... they're usually pretty cool about just hanging around and being approachable... even in may 09 there was panda and geo right there and nobody outside was even going up to talk to them? ... though they WERE loading stuff up! for the pics here it was in iowa and in the back there was this eating area and they were just hanging around [this was may 07 and strangely once again no one seemed like they were going up and talking to them? i don't know how common that is! ... i know some think eh i have nothing to say ... even i sometimes with bands can't think of much and just say HEY! good show! and shake the hand and sometimes that is enough!]
• Thats really cool man. I hope to get to see them when I go to see ODDSAC in LA
• this topic got BIG. I'm gonna try address some of the points of discussion - sadly missed out on an opp to meet AC at their show in NZ. we waited around but the ASSHOLE security guards ejected us and then we just felt unwelcome. I only really wanted to meet them for a photo/signing opp. I know any conversation would be awkward. there's no overcoming the fan/artist barrier, none at all - I am stuck horribly in between the 'beard' 'no-beard' realms, I can't grow a full beard but I have to shave every couple days (every day if I was tidy). it sucks. all the hassle with no benefit. - I'm proud to say I WAS into AC at KidGrizzly's age (14). just sung tongs tho. it took another year and Feels for me to get the back catalogue and get obsessed. - I have a mostly bad relationship with drugz...I think they messed me up! It's weird tho, I think salvia is kinda harmless. it only lasts 5 mins so even if you freak out it's not a big deal. I'd do it again. the first time I did it I got transported back in time to my childhood home, and then I started throwing all these shoes around screaming 'get these feet away from me!!!!'. the second time I imagined a giant spine growing out of my chest and connecting to a giant bat flapping it's wings in the corner. - the forest temple track is one of my faves! all the crazy tribal noises and stuff, too good. the whole OoT soundtrack is brilliant. I rock it a lot. check out 'the ocarina of rhyme' if you haven't. it's songs from OoT remixed with awesome rapping on top of it. so ill.
• get these feet away from me! ha! ... damn i did it at such a low grade i didn't really SEE anything... but i get so nervous ahead of time and worry about bad trips that it'll MAKE it a reality! ... i hate that about myself! i need fool-proof druggles! i can't really stand rap crap which is sad because hearing music built upon ocarina of time songs would be damn fun if done right... that's more my problem! it is weird witha beard how yr buddies who can't really grow them seem so jealoush but damn i'm more jealoush of them having such hairless chests... i don't like being ape-like like avey & geo i wanna be smooth like deeks or noah (who's pretty much like a young choir boy! The whole thing i think iz [sic!] ))) i need to go to a bar that has karokey but is hip enough to have animal collective choices i know that must be out there somewhere! would be so fun to do an AC for that... anyone here ever do karokey? i usually end up doing one hit blunders from the 80s!
• oh i love it when i type so much and then the internet messes up and i have to re-type it all! going back to page...9? I tried salvia a few nights ago for the first time, because like some of you I heard it was awesome. Unfortunately I'd been having a crappy week so I had a super bad trip. It felt like there were concrete walls rubbing against my sides and I thought my clothes were made of cement so I wanted to take them off...(i didnt!) And I thought I was being filmed by rude news crews. It wasn't fun! But I'd be willing to try it again when in the right mindset. I've also done mush three times, all fantastic and fun. The last time I actually ventured outside the house, and made it all the way downtown during the OLYMPICS. which was crazy and busy and super fun. I only started smoking pot last summer, but have been doing it too often for my liking in the last couple months, so I quit smoking it 2 weeks ago. horray! Grizzles, I'm proud of you for never trying anything! But all in all I must say I think drugs are pretty spiffy when used responsibly and safely! (or as safe as you can be...doing drugs and all.) On a lighter note, My butt looks big cause it's a fisheye lens...and its blurry because it was film that had to be developed. Which makes me sad. But regardless! I'm wearing huge sunglasses and all three of them are smiling. (I was totally the first fan to talk to them:) awesome.)
• Thats a really cool picture terror. What is that your holding?
• it looks like merriweather wall paper! Great picture, lucky you! I'm glad to hear that you made it down to see some of the olympics, I was wondering if you were, since you're our native canadian here (are there others I don't know about?!) i've done shrooms a few times too, and they all were amazing. I'd never try salvia again though. Almost everyone i've talked to about it has had a horrible time. Maybe mine was so bad because I did it out of a gravity bong?
• I wish I could meet them! Hopefully I go next time they play a Vancouver show, but I don't know if I will make it. Did I tell you I'm obsessed with Noah? I feel like a stupid fangirl saying this, but I had this little Panda obsession phase roundabouts a year ago (give or take a couple months), and I used to watch Fecal Matters every single day, and all these interviews, and I had pictures of him on my ipod, and it got scary for a while. It's better now. I'm not obsessed anymore, just kind of in awe. I'm a little afraid that if I see him one day there will be something involving a flying tackle, but maybe I will learn to restrain myself. Also, I have a friend that looks alot like him. I don't know about you, but I think the resemblance is pretty uncanny.
• Yeah, your friend does look quite like him. I know someone too who reminds me of him. I think its his eyes. Theres a person at my school too that just came. (I'm not a fan girl or obsessed jajajaja, but I think he is amazing and very adorable ) I've never seen Fecal Matters. When was it released?
• when he was in college. It's on youtube, it's just a short film. About 10 mins.
• it's my signed merriweather poster in my hands:D i got them to sign the other side though, which is the picture on the inside of the album with the water and the girl swimming. cause i like it better!:D now it's framed and in my room. salvia out of a gravity bong? probably pretty intense. I just hit it out of a pipe. you should marry your noah look-alike friend. for obvious reasons!
• definitely intense. I'm jealous of your poster. That must be amazing! What a treasure. That kid does kind of look like Noah too. If I had a crush on any of the AC it would be Noah.
•
you should marry your noah look-alike friend. for obvious reasons!
agreed. and he likes Animal Collective. Ladies and gents, I think we have a winner.
• You're only 14, cut out that hanky panky!
• Silly Phantom, no need to worry. We are good kids up in the Great White North.
• don't listen to her, kids up in the north are not good. we're drug-crazy-sex-addicted-teenagers.
• Sounds fun as; wish I lived up in the North.
• Hey! Speak for yourself, friend. I am going to be a biologist just like Geologist! Wait... that sounds funny...
• haha I was only being sarcastic. we northerners are getlemen/ladies and scholars. and apparently, poets!
• What is 'MUSH'??? I forget if I said I did salvia, anyways, yes I did, and I liked it but it was too short! I'd done a lot of psychedelics prior so I was familiar with the weirdness. I grew it for a while with the intention of using it like the shamans do: they chew the fresh leaves. Never got around to it and still have the dried leaves somewhere in the house. I love the fish-eye lens photo, Teetles.
• i've heard the leaves are way better. I've had other psychedelic experiences than salvia, and so had my friends before trying salvia. And we were all still scared. I've never had a trip that uncomfortable from anything other than salvia and neither had they!
• I have heard that also. In the end I shy away from Salvia. It was way to intense for me, I enjoy a calm relaxing high. That is why smoking has become so big for me, sometimes there isn't anything more comforting then smoking and listening to my favorite songs while I sing along. I wish I knew more people in to AC around here, I beyond know my voice will never do Avey or Panda justice, but I have a huge passion for singing, and their lyrics individually. I even enjoy trying to match every sound that they produce with their vocals. Maybe I am the only one to do this, I dont know..im sure I sound crazy to other people singing my heart out as loud as I can..not caring if others hear...but back to what I was saying..I wanna try and cover a song! It would never sound right, but I would love to try..then show you guys so you can banter me. haha
• hey! I do that too and i'm a chick. Currenly, i'm taking a crack at covering Fireworks on the piano. If I ever get it finished and perfect i'll put it up for all to see. I wish we all lived near each other so we could have AnCo inspired jams. It makes me sad that we don't. I don't have any AnCo friends either (well, besides one, but he's my ex soo...) and I introduce him to all kinds of stuff that he hasn't heard before. Everyone hear sounds chill and right up my ally. Sometimes I sing Brothersport loudly and dance around the kitchen and We Tigers, when no one else is at home. Its when I feel nearly complete as a person. I tihnk people would think I was crazy if they saw me.

• Tigers...we need to make the best band ever! haha. Lets just have us both singing loud through out a kitchen and we got ourselves a video! haha. I really do wish someone lived near me that appreciated AC as much as you guys do...when I talk about AC to my friends, they have no care..all they like is the mainstream stuff that plays every day.. hopefully soon though we will have that benefit concert I mentioned awhile back, lol. We are all supposed to make some cake to raise airplane tickets and a decent price to pay them to come! that would be the day for me!
• I've got friends who listen to AC, but it always seems when I bring them up they're thinking "oh, this again..." It would be cool to have a big AC.org get together. arrgggghh.
• it would. One of us needs to win the lottery so we can buy lots of plane tickets.
•
I've got friends who listen to AC, but it always seems when I bring them up they're thinking "oh, this again..." It would be cool to have a big AC.org get together. arrgggghh.
Exactly the same way I feel. Specially with my girlfriend, it seems like I get to excited for certain things. Like when I hear something in a song that I hadn't heard before, I am always so happy and it makes me love that song all the more.
•
it would. One of us needs to win the lottery so we can buy lots of plane tickets.
we should all be legit pen pals. i love getting mail.
• that sounds brilliant!
• oh man i feel a topic coming on.
• mhmm, i agree
