• Not eating right now. Hopefully will be soon because I just ordered chinese for delivery. I have been waiting for half hour for my ordering food. Well I mostly take restaurant food three times in a week.
• I tried having coffee with sweetend condensed milk instead of the milk or sugar. Didn't work whatsoever. I don't know how much sweetend condensed milk I put in but it seemed like quite some bit and it still tasted like strong coffee. I'm have a major sweet tooth - maybe its just my age but I have heaps of sugar in my coffee. lol I got some latte packets today cause when I make coffees for people at work it smells really good! This afternoon I made Nasi Georang for dinner for the family, and it was quite sucessful - so yay for that. This thread makes me think of Wini's fruit orchards.. you should post some pictures for us to see wini!
• Breakfast - Sultana Bran Afternoon tea - A piece of salmon sushi and a piece of sheperds pie (meat pie with potatoe on top), orange juice Dinner - Pumpkin soup! Coke Desert - Chocolate ice cream
• Yum Sultana Bran, been eating heaps of that lately. lmfao, I thought you wrote for afternoon tea you had shepards pie with a piece of salmon on top. I love smoked salmon but would never eat it on top of a meat pie! lolol
• You Australians seem to eat the exact same foods. How odd. In fact, i thought that was you posting, Miss Curses. What is Nasi Georang? Indonesian something-or-other? I am teaching Briana how to cook. We have made 2 different kinds of stir fry, a strawberry pie and strawberry jam. She ate her first tofu last night. Here are a photo of the jam before it started cooking and a photo of Briana taking a photo of the pie.
• YUM those look delicious! I wish my roommates kept the kitchen clean so I could bake tasty things more often.
• I want cupcakes and milk.
• I've been baking a lot of stuff lately. Last week I made same Strawberry Mini Muffins with my friend and they turned out ok but last night I made some "oatmeal peanut butter" cookies and they were terrible. I should only use recipes with reviews. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna go pick blueberries! And then hopefully make some muffins.
•
I took my pretend daughter Briana out for her first Indian meal this weekend! I had my favorite, Palak Paneer (also called Saag Paneer), spinach and cheese curds in a mildly spicy creamy sauce, and she had the buffet. She's a recovering bulimic so she ate like two tablespoons of each thing, but she did sample them all! She did NOT like the raita or the mint chutney but like the chicken korma and the nan dipped in tamarind sauce. Also, when I was in portland with Ivan ( ) we went to a roto-sushi place, the real businessmen's sushi bar where the sushi is on a conveyor belt and you snag what you wants and pile up the plates. It's such instant gratification because I was starving and sat down, grabbed a plate of inari and snarfed it. YAY wow. Inari are the sweet tofu-paper wrapped rice footballs.
You weren't with my Cousin were you? Haha. Just wanting a little fruit snack, Perhaps a parfait.
• wish I had some sushi atm
• Gonna make some scones soon. Been craving them for quite some time! I love them with cream and strawberry jam! Yum!
• scones! we make them every morning at the bakery! I had to make them this morning...I'm actually not a big fan of them plain but I imagine with cream and strawberry jam! yum!
• Someone is making me pasta with hamburgers tonight. (Huh?)
• We had delicious pakoras the other night and last night had homemade pizza with fresh mozzarella, new zealand spinach, shitake and white mushrooms and fresh out of the garden garlic. Then I ate a bunch of cake today. It was not good cake, even though it was cake.
• that sounds like a mixture of good with not so good but irresistable. i just ate some orange cherry tomatoes. they aren't really cherry tomotoes i don't know what they really are. i'm devouring some juengling. i ate lots of things today. a cookie, two cookies, half of a sandwhich with sundried tomato pesto, half a blt...mmmm
• I want to drink a hot chocolate, and eat some porkbuns. Yuuum. Though I'll probably just drink a hot chocolate and eat.. PIZZA! awyeah! ((before the movies))
• Jaffas and coke. Abnormal of myself to buy such a thing it is..
• What's a jaffa?
• Yum, moon cake! I should make some, i think I have the recipe...Welcome, Helen, by the way.
• what are moon cakes?
• They are a sweetish cake with red bean paste in the middle and a design on the top. They're for the autumn festival in China and Japan and I love them. I checked and I have all the ingredients so maybe I will make some. i don't have the mold for the design, though. I want pizza but I need to lose weight so it's squash and rice for me. Bore-ingggg.
• Wanting to eat plain cheese pizza slice from Costco.
• mmmm pizza. Eating lots of fresh figs which are delicious but I don't like peering into their innards.
• tofu panang. making some tonight. mmmmmm.
• well since i'm going to the zoo i kinda want to eat some animals!
• I'm making sweet potato biscuits for breakfast tomorrow morning. I'm having a slumber party.
• i am planning what to make for a potluck. Every year at work we do a potluck -- everyone brings in a dish from their home country, enough for 20-50 people, and we sell plates at 5$; money raised gets split between a local and international charity. Technically I should be making something spanish-y, but a) I'm bored of it and b) being in miami, everyone else has that so very covered (also, c) there's a distinct lack of veg options and although i'm not vegan/vegetarian, I do cook some good veg stuff). So. - Vegan Korma. I've made this the last two years and it's always gone in an hour. First year I didn't even get to try any of my own. - Redneck Pakoras. typically they're made from dal or chickpea flour but that's a bitch to find, so I make mine w/ a mix of cornmeal and flour; or hushpuppy mix. Hence they are "redneck" pakoras. - Kool Aid Pickles. TRUST, they are good.
• redneck pakoras! That's great! I make pakoras and bhajis and never thought to call them the redneck version! I love Indian food. it's hard to find around here so I mix my own spice mixes and cook my own. I make an awesome saag paneer.
•
Wanting to eat plain cheese pizza slice from Costco.
AH costco is pizza is the best. THE BEST. But I always get pepperoni.
• today made what is called rotmos, it's mashed potatoes and carrots mixed together. with bearnaise sauce and chicken... though traditionally it's with sausage instead of chicken. but aw man is it good. i miss good old american style pan pizza. i would be so stoked on some papa john's right now but it ain't in my country!
• Had some chicken nuggets earlier. Just drinking some water right now.
• I'm making chicken cutlets, green beans (from my garden), mashed potatoes and strawberries for dinner.
• My mom made a plum cake with cinnamon on the top, its delicious.
•
My mom made a plum cake with cinnamon on the top, its delicious.
In my family we call it Dachi! It is very delicious!
•
In my family we call it Dachi! It is very delicious!
It's pretty good with apples too. I'm gonna eat the last piece rigth now before my brother does!
• Sauerkraut Pie!
• That plum cake sounds amazing, even with you only mentioning two ingrediants! Got any recipes online perhaps? I really like Pecan pie and I had that for my birthday last year and I'm considering having it again. But the plum one sounds awesome.
• cooked a portobello mushroom and had a 'burger' out of it. boiled some artichokes and enjoyed their fleshy bits and hearts.
• Ooh Tiggles those are yummy sandwiches. I like mine with goat cheese.
• A lollipop shaped like a ghost that my girlfriend gave to me.. Yum!
• I bought this pumpkin for Halloween and never carved it, I just sat it on the counter and enjoyed it's pumpkiness. So I decide its time to do something with the pumpkin...but what? I already had pumpkin mash for pie, a couple bags. The high school physics class and its trebouchet was suggested on facebook. I ended up making an amazing decadent pumpkin and andouille sausage soup. It had pecans from my tree in it, and cream, and was soooo good. AND I made pumpkin hummus with diced pumpkin roasted in olive oil and rosemary from the garden, then pureed with garbanzo beans, cumin and a wee bit of hot sauce. I also want to report that I ate brussels sprouts twice in the last week.
• that all sounds super delicious amazing. congrats on the sprouts too, they are one of my favorite things to eat! i've been enjoying the lovely cereal that is 'just bunches' lately. i've been enjoying too much of it.
• You have a PECAN tree!? What! Gee wini, your garden must be like, vegetarian heaven. zomg. I'm gonna have pecan pie for my birthday instead of a cake. Did the same thing last year but it turned out a bit burnt but this years should be good. Loove pecan pie. And the reason I started eating pecan pie is pretty cause of this little short film by my fave director Michael Gondry:: At the moment though, I am eating Smarties!! and drinking Iced Coffee. I've been in such a good mood today I felt like a treat! xD
• ever since my friend belinda posted this on facebook, i've been dying to make pumpkin soup: http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2010/ ... _waln.html (i love blue cheese)
• A salad with french dressing.
• You current posters don't cook enough. I just made barley vegetable soup. I also made fudge and pralines for all my friends and loved ones this Christmas.
• I had barley vegetable soup at work yesterday. we make soups every day. I really want to eat smarties or some teethrotting sugar candy.
• its almost eleven and i still can't find anything for breakfast. all there is to eat are english muffins, but no jelly or peanut butter! i'm contemplating using hummus right now its all i've got besides mustard..
• oh damn that sounds tasty. i would throw a tomato or some olives on there....
• feeeesssshhh
