January 20th Ballroom Show NYC

edited January 2009 in Reverb
Was curious if anyone around the board is going to be at the Grand Ballroom next Tuesday around 8 for the AC concert. It should be pretty awesome since thats the day of the CD release. I was wondering if most of their set would basically be the whole album, since its the same day of release, or if they would do a normal set, or maybe even go as far as to new material. -Birdee

• Since I live in the west coast that would be pretty hard to go and watch but I think it would be way too insane if they did perform other songs, unless they encore with "Grace" and some other songs, maybe for some later EP.
• Un-Fucking-Believable is all i can say, the room was pounding, i was up on the balcony, all the way to the right, above Panda Bear's set, and got a good view of everything. The best AC concert i have seen, mix of songs, all the good new ones too like My Girls, Daily Routine, and a finish with Brothersport. What really made this concert the best was the encore. They did 2 songs after they took a minute for a breather after Brothersport, the first was Banshee Beat which was cool, it was a very different take on it. The last song was a incredible suprise, Slippi. And it was damn good, a bit redone, with new samples, but the lyrics and guitar were mint, and the electronic noise panda did for it with Avey's voice was sooooo perfect, best song of the night in terms of crazy bouncing awesomeness... thank you AC
• Do you have a full setlist?
• i need to see this band live pronto
• Im buying tickets tommorow for the May 13th show, can't wait...again! hard to remember (I accidently got a buzz from all the crowd smoke) setlist, it was somthing like this... -In the Flowers -Leaf House -New Untitled Song -Guys Eyes -Summertime Clothes -New Untitled Song (Better than the first imo, real catchy sample by Panda) -Lion In A Coma -Fireworks (Not Esssplode version, but it had about 4 or 5 minutes of improvised drumming, at least, i have never once seen Panda do this alternate drumming) -My Girls -Daily Routine -Brothersport (Last Song) Encore: -Banshee Beat -Slippi
• I wish someone who was taping the shows would contact me, it looks really good.
• There was a show on the 21st at the bowery ballroom that i went to. It was the first real concert that i attended, and it was unbelievable. i think the rest of my life will be a disappointment as i'll never experience anything as exciting ; ) Anyway, I can't remember the whole set list either, but there were a few differences. -didn't play In the Flowers, instead opened with Are You also Frightened. -They played a slower electronic version of winter's love, i think adding a beat at the end of every measure so it was in 5/4 time. personally i like the original version better. -They closed with Comfy In Nautica, which was incredible. -also, Kria Brekken opened which was scary in a good way (at least I think it was her. i researched a bit after the show and I can't think of anyone else it would be). everything else was pretty similar, except the order of the songs.
• Found perfect set lists and recordings for both concerts, fair quality, considering when i went (20th first night) the room was booming with overwhelming bass, i thought to myself, it'll be hard to record this concert, but they did a good job. you can view pics, and the setlist, and download from this link. • I just added both shows from nyctaper to the Gets, I'm hoping that the tapers continue to be apt at every show.
