• I was going to ask some clarifying questions before I put my list but no need anymore... Tomorrow... I will put it out there tomnorrow... Need to sift through all my music from Dimmu Borgir to The Paper Kites...
• Yeah... I'm not going to just put ten... Too much to choose from. I'll just put the ones that matter alphabetically: Band - Album - Favourite song from album Animal Collective - Water Curses - Water Curses Bombay Bicycle Club - (Single) - Shuffle Coldplay - A Rush of blood to the head - A rush of blood to the head Cradle of Filth - Midian - Saffron's Curse Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra - Dimmu Borgir Dir En Grey - Unknown - Ryoujoku No Ame Disturbed - 10 000 Fists - Son of a Plunder Foster The People - Torches - Colour on the Walls (Don't Stop) Future Islands - In Eveningn Air - Tin Man Gojira - From Mars to Sirius - Where Dragons Fall Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest - Cheerleader Here We Go Magic - S/T I guess - Fangela Heaven Shall Burn - Deaf To Our Prayers - Counterweight Kasabian - Unknown - The Green Fairy Live - The Distance to Here - Where Fishes Go Machinae Supremacy - A View From The End Of The World - Persona Mastadon - Cracke The Skye - Crack the Skye Metallica - Black - Nothing Else Matters Muse - The Resistance - Undisclosed Desires Nirvana - All Albums - Something in the Way Opeth - Blackwater Park - Blackwater Park Pavement - Brighten the Corners - Stereo Pinback - This Is A Pinback CD - Loro Pixies - Doolittle & surfer Rosa - Hey & Where Is My Mind Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts - Sleeping with Ghosts Radiohead - In Rainbows & Kid A - Nude & How To Disappear Completely RHCP - By The Way - Venice Queen Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Rodrigo y Gabriela - Orion Satyricon - Age of Nero - The Wolfpack Slipknot - Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses - Vermillion Smashing Pumpkins - Machina & Mellon Colli and the Infinite Sadness - Raindrops and Sunshowers & Zero SOAD - Hypnotize - Hypnotize The Agonist - Once Only Imagined - Void of Sympathy The Cranberries - Everyone Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We? - Linger The Beatles - All Albums - Eleanor Rigby The New Pornographers - Challengers - Myriad Harbour The Paper Kites - Woodland - Willow Tree March The White Stripes - Icky Thump - Icky Thump The Shins - Oh, Inverted World - New Slang The xx - xx - The whole bloody album is AMAZING!! Theatres Des Vampires - Pleasure and Pain - Pleasure and Pain Tool - 10 000 Days - Vicarious Wild Beasts - Two Dancers - The Fun Powder Plot Xit - Silent Warriior - Awakening Thats it I think.... I skipped alot of music, and am a little heartsore that alot of it didn't make it... If you have a problem with how much I've out here, deal with it, see if I give a shit :)
• Only one AC release made it on there?
• Whoah there Damian, thats way too many albums. I've got a real problem with that, you know... Also i love how you put your favorite song from xx as the whole album, since the whole album sounds the SAME! Its still nice, though :) And Claude, on Damians list, its seems like the only alternative to putting one album for each band was to list all of the bands albums as among his favorites. So, theres no SIGNIFICANT cause for concern. :)
• Well it's just for some artists he put two albums on there, but I realize now that's probably because he liked them equally. I think.
• Actually, ha ha ha I'm having a good little laugh at your dissection, I was only introduced to animal collective a couple of months ago and you know how it is when you listen to a band over the years they become ingrained in you to a certain extent? Its like that with Radiohead and the bands that have multiple albums listed. I'm just so comfortable with those albums that they know their own rank, if they were personified. And Claude or is it Claudea? I don't know how I got so addicted to AC, but they hit me like a virus and I can't stop listening to them. I've also never joined a community - thingy like this either (that's how much I like AC). I did try with SlipKnot (my fav band) once, but metalheads take some shit really REALLY seriously, like I do about SlipKnot. Though, I have a friend (who has really put my patience with her to the test recently) is a metal head and has so many issues that I'm tired of dealing with it, I'm my own person and can choose who to spend my time with etc. Metal heads can be really hardcore, I used to be a real one and then smoked some green and mellowed out and stopped fighting with people :) Now I think about it, that list is like my whole life story in band-name-language.
• MY FAVOURITES AT THIS MOMENT, INCONCLUSIVE AND UNOFFICIAL, IN NO ORDER OF PREFERENCE OR COMPARISON: [IMG][/IMG] ALBUMS AND FAVOURITE SONGS: Kid A - Radiohead (Idioteque) AnCo - Strawberry Jam (For Reverend Green, 'Marzuki Favourite Song Award') Sufjan Stevens - Michigan (Holland) AnCo - Feels (Grass) Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers (Before I Move Off) Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (The Sprawl) My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (Only Shallow) Pedro the Lion - Winners Never Quit (Bad Things to Such Good People) Kanyeezy - The College Dropout (Family Business) Arcade Fire - Funeral (Neighborhood #2 (Laïka)) SPECIAL MENTIONS: The rest of AnCo's discography, Sufjan Stevens' "Illinois", The Antlers' "Hospice", various electronic and rap albums, and much much more. Terms and conditions apply. Opinion on these albums and their position may change at any given moment. You may love, like, dislike or hate any of these but I don't particularly care. Thank you
• damn! i LOVE damian's picks! some ones you def. wouldn't expect! obviously like slipknot, opeth, disturbed, etc but i'm thinking pinback or placebo 2! (the revenge!) the resistance (we must resiste The Danse!) is the only muse album i didn't really dig but undisclosed desires is an amazing song! (def. my fave from that album) ... also picking SLEEPING WITH GHOSTS for the 'bo is unexpected! i dug that one too! and black market music! eleanor rigby is my fave beagles song too!
• Much gratitude G.O. Ha ha ha I look at everyone elses music and think to myself.. :wow, these people have diverse tastes and then I figure that I do too, yet I don't think of it that way because its the way we think.
• Lol Damian, not too many metalheads here (as far as i know /:) ) And you are able to enjoy Coldplay/Muse without feeling the urge to listen to something better And also Dimmu Borgir. I mean. What the hell is THAT? Man your tastes are WAY diverse
• Ha ha ha ha, yeah, I feel that Coldplay and Muse are amazing bands in their own respects. Dimmu Borgir is a Black Metal band from Norway, they're probably the best black metal band the world, Cradle of Filth used to be, but Dani Filth's arrogance got the better of him and now he's as scary as a chipmunk on steroids. Cradles' music also took a knock because there were too many different mambers after each album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder was the tipping point and Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa was way disappointing... So, if anyone wants to try out some Black metal, go for Cradle's earlier stuff, more dangerous and twisted than the new stuff. Dimmu Borgir is a good choice too, but listen to older stuff first or you'll feel let down after hearing Abrahadabra (best album of theirs so far). Gorgoroth is for like, the heavy heavy metal fans, the real hardcore guys. They don't even post their lyrics and tabs on the net.
• i like my coffee black LIKE I LIKE MY METAL! :(|)
• I wonder what white metal would sound like?
• You may be onto something - everything metal but with harmonized, angelic vocals? Or how about everything metal, but with ukeles replacing the guitars? WHITE METAL
• I like my metal black and macabre, and "Christian metal"... Tut... No thanks. It just sounds like it'll be pansy soft music and not really metal sounding. You can't scream "JESUS I LOVE YOU!!!" Or whatever and expect it to be filled with anger and hate as metal is.
• I think I have to disagree with you on that one. ;;) Apparently Mortification were one of the leading Christian death metal bands of their time.
• A shocking number of death metal bands are Christian
• As well as hardcore/emocore. I think Underoath is one of my favourites and they're Christian.
• Old skool underoath yes!!!! I have 2 of their shirts
