• I'm not trying to pressure you, GO.. But i fell into the temptation of downloading it early, and lets just say.. I DON"T REGRET IT ONE BIT. The album is amazing, mate.
• i preordered but i just had to listen to it yesterday. it is amazing, espiecially the first track, a lot of emotion wrapped into 6 mins. i think this is one of the best Anco associated releases...... Panda Bear, your rebuttal please.....
• No joke. I'm not really too excited for panda's. I guess its because i've never really liked him as much as avey tares.. But like. I dunno.. he's more beautiful than creative i guess. To me, he sounds like a harp from heaven, when avey to me is a Juicebox of assorted fruits. Colorful juice box is more me. And i really loved some of pandas early albums.. but they were just pleasing to my ear. I cant really dance to alot of it. Which is why i like DOWN THERE so much. Gets my muscles twirling. Sometimes i go to bed listening to it, then get right up and bounce around for a bit till i get tired.
• shipping today!
• Slippi-ing Away! <!-- s>__< --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/mad.gif" alt=">__<" title="mad" /><!-- s>__< -->
• DEAR EVERYONE LISTEN ASAP THAT IS ALL. <3
•
jeez you might as well just have singled out the 2 tracks that weren't yr faves!
Oh I love the whole album G.O. [!] but Glass Bottom Boat and Cemeteries idk, I don't find myself coming back to them throughout the day as often as the rest. If they happen to come on though I'll let em play through. <!-- s:heart: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/heart.gif" alt="" title="heart" /><!-- s:heart: --> 3 Umbrellas and Head's Hammock are my top two faves right now though!!! <!-- s:heart: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/heart.gif" alt="" title="heart" /><!-- s:heart: --> (then the rest in the order previously posted) P.S. the song with the mosquito sounds in my dream was Abyss Song off Crumbling Land because I had the mp3 on play all Avey Tare as opposed to just by album <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/razz.gif" alt=":P" title="razz" /><!-- s:P -->
• I got it! I got it! It's beautiful! It's vinyl! I don't have a fucking record player! Mine was engraved by J. Lambert!
• I got mine too! I love how the sleeve has cutouts of kitties and crocodiles!!!!!!!!!! I also loved the thank you that avey had to Josh. Thanks brother. It was nice.
• I didn't realize Josh had helped so much with this, did you? And the digital download isn't working for me, so I'm just holding the record to my ear.
• I did! Josh helped produce it so he was certainly a big part. Probably the codes will be useable by tomorrow. I wasn't expecting there to be one! I'm very glad it was there. edit;; i'm actually pretty sure that Josh produced the entire thing.
• Got myself a copy today! I took my chances and tried to find it in stores today and found it! I got it at Best Buy for just under $9. Looking forward to a really proper listen on some nice speakers later tonight.
•
I got it at Best Buy for just under $9
ok that is just bonkers! just seems REALLY weird... i don't know /// jeez i hopefully will give it a first glisten tonight... it has been hard and strange hearing so many talk about it already? ... but i wanted it to be the right time and the right mood so maybe it will be ok! here's hoping! i think it's about time i go DOWN THERE!
• if you want to come over and listen to the lp with me, that'd be cool. Us with our ears each pressed to a side of the vinyl. Nah, you'd get girl germs then and yell oh god! a lot. nvrmnd.
• too bad you guys live so far away you could just come listen to it on vinyl at my house. the only down point is, one of my speakers is blown so I listen to it through only one of them. I mean, it's not that bad, there aren't any parts missing, its just not as good.
• I just got my disc in the mail! Pretty sweet! the packaging was somewhat disappointing, with no booklet or art at all, it was just a sleeve inside a sleeve. But I'm very excited to listen to it again because I've only listened once since it got leaked.
• You have a turntable? You rock.
• I thought that the packaging was great! The cutout crocodiles and kittens made it unique when most records you get now adays are black and in a solid sleeve with art on it. I don't have any records with a sleeve like that...
• OK, so we sort of have two threads going but I'll post in both because I'm not sleepy yet. OH GOD G.O. [!] you MUST listen to it, because I sincerely believe that on listen 4 or 5 you will be a happy man. I mean, you'll be happy during the play-throughs numbered 1 through 3, too. I listened to it in the background while driving around in the darkity dark of rural dark-dark whilst plundering the lands for party supplies. That was maybe twice. Then twice since I got home? While painting. So actually, I don't know how you'll feel on Listen # 5. I also listened to Safer and wonder when it was written? It feels so much like this stuff, to me, I know it's ages apart, but it'd be interesting to sort of track the vibe. Man.
• I'm definitely on my 30th-40th listen through. Love this album to death. This album is the "Downward Spiral" of Animal Collective. (any Nine Inch Nails fans?)
• I like really like Downward Spiral but i havent really listened to any of the other records.
•
Winilula: I also listened to Safer and wonder when it was written? Man.
I was thinking the same thing a while back too when I was trying to turn some friends on to it Winilula. I was telling everyone in the Tomboy thread how SlowMotion/Alsatian Darn sound reminiscent to Bonfire of the Vanities also.
• thats a good interview. Im excited at avey saying AC is probably going to make another album and work together early next year. I really want to hear some new stuff
• they should call it Animal Collective X: The Final Album but it is just a joke and there is another album in 2012 where they go into SPACE!

I know you could play with the html when it was first going up, according to some CA members. You can drag the alligator around. What else? How fun!
• Hmm, well i guess we have those lyrics figured out. So do you think thats the original sheet of lyrics he wrote down? Or just made for the video? I love the handwriting so much.

I have this app on google chrome that puts a button on anything that is an mp3 then it plays them on a little player thing. That's how I noticed it. But who knows, he might have other things up his sleeve for this song and maybe that's why he's just teasing us with the lyrics? <!-- so_O --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eh.gif" alt="o_O" title="eh" /><!-- so_O -->

• which makes it even sadder thinking of him playing certain songs live in 2009 <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="sad" /><!-- s:( --> MISS MY WIFE oh god?
• I've been looking for live material from Down There but to no avail so far. • I've read somewhere that he's not going to perform any of down there live because its too dark of a place to go to every night.
•
I've read somewhere that he's not going to perform any of down there live because its too dark of a place to go to every night.
That makes perfect sense. I also wonder since it's so heavily sampled if technically it would be hard to play. And regarding their split, yeah, when they toured MPP they were separated (but not divorced).
• <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.paw-tracks.com/shop.html">http://www.paw-tracks.com/shop.html</a><!-- m --> paw tracks is selling down there t-shirts. ONly smalls and extra larges available. I'm considering buying one but not sure if I really want to/have the money to yet here I am buying album after album on itunes.
• i like it, but is that grey window apart of the picture going to show up on the shirt? Looks kind of amateur, i dont really like that. but if not, its a decent shirt. i like the album cover
• There's a good (albeit short) interview in Under the Radar with an absolutely awesome picture that they asked avey to send in. They asked for a picture of him and what he sent in is awesome. I think it makes sense that he doesn't tour and I'm fine with that but I really hope Panda comes here. None of AnCo has played here since like 06 or 07 and I've only seen Deaks at ODDSAC. I really wanna see Panda (and Deakin too!)
• Aveys new album is the best album I've heard since Give Up (The Postal Service). The way the tracks just go so well together on the album and the random voices at the begining of songs. I really like all the tracks too. There isn't a song I dislike at all. With Give Up its just, all the songs are really amazing. They never grow old and all the tracks relate so well to eachother and it sounds like an album should, rather than, random tracks here and there that don't go terribly well together. I still really love Give Up (it remains my favourite album!) and I think Down There is one of the first albums I can closely relate that same feeling with.
•
With Give Up its just, all the songs are really amazing
I absolutely LOVE five or six songs on Give Up (Brand New Colony, District, Anthem, Such Great Heights and Clark Gable). But I think Recycled Air is awful. Respecting your opinion, I think ben makes albums that feel very personal to people. IMO, Evan and Chan is the greatest Postal Service song
• Evan and Chan! omg, yes!!! That is by far my favourite song of all time, out of any of the songs I've ever heard in my lifetime! I love it sososososoososos much! : D
• too bad that most of DNTEL is snoozy!
• Funny, I was just listening to Dntel last night. If anyone were trying to get into Dntel The Postal Service is the best bet even though he never gets any recognition for it. Dumb Luck is good too though (Grizzly Bear, Jenny Lewis, Mia Doi Todd, Fog, Conor Oberst, Mystic Chords of Memory) and Life Is Full of Possibilities are good starting points. Few people care for Early Works I & II and Something Always Goes Wrong. There's also Early Works, Later Versions and he recently released After Parties 1 and 2.
• I really like some of Dntels stuff. I haven't got around to listening to Early Works.. and After Parties though. I think Lali Punas on Dumb Luck too. Love Lali Puna so much. Also Jimmy Tomborellos other project Figurine, I haven't got around to listening to much of that eaither.

HOW DID THIS THOUGHT EVEN ENTER MY MIND.

At the park i heard one of the songs from the album play there, i was super excited about it but my family was unimpressed. haha
• every DNTEL song that doesn't feature a guest vocalist just bored me greatly... cept for ONE: it was off that something always glows wrong album called IN WHICH OUR HERO FINDS A FAITHFUL SIDEKICK that song is magik as HELL why the duck did nothing else of his even come close? apparently early DOESN'T blerk 4 him... uh!
