Bad Hipster Examples

My friend is a hipster. I have tons of hipster friends who influence me in hipster ways. Although, there are good hipsters. and there are bad hipsters. This is a thread for us to share examples of BAD hipsters.

• That guy is just silly looking. Is he really considered a hipster?
• i'm in love with his pants
• That song is kind of catchy.
• I like the song. I don't think how someone dresses makes someone a hipster though. It's all about lack of sincerity.
• Well someone can be considered a hipster by many different lifestyle choices. music they listen to, the way they treat react to society, and the way they dress are pretty big keys though... like any other social group. And lack of sincerity?
• The song is really catchy. and quite fun
• I think Shinsy means that when a person dresses/acts a certain way or reads/listens to/watches stuff that not a lot of people like, he is just being himself. The difference is if he does that stuff for attention or so he can be seen as "indie", that makes him a "hipster". But if he just does that stuff because that's what he's into, and it happens to coincide with what is generally seen as "indie", then so be it and he's not necessarily a "hipster".
• Today a man ask me if I was writer, because I "looked like one" and then later, wearing the same clothes, a little girl said I looked like a witch. I thought I looked like a gothic Lolita. Who's to say which one was right?
• this is a joke. but it took 3 hours. so enjoy my joke. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href=" "> m --> im the winner, in case your wondering.

It's really long and black and sweatery, and it's comfortable I want to wear it all the time. And it makes me feel witchy and reminds me of you for some reason. that is quite impressive, shallfishy. i couldn't do that in three hours.
• I'm glad that I can share those moments with you, Miss Shinsidoodle.
• I've never seen any of you, but from reading posts, my mental image of Wini is a sorceress. haha
• she's a sorceress of awesome.
• I am burying this in this thread because I am, obviously, a total hipster. Tiggles, you made my day. I hug you. Ok, here's a recent photo of me.
• your braid is beatiful! (I hug you back!) I am terrible at braiding my hair and I really should get good at it because my hair is wayyyy toooo long
• My hair is the same length as yours! ...Almost! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile-1.gif" alt=":)" title=":)" /><!-- s:) -->
•
My hair is the same length as yours! ...Almost! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile-1.gif" alt=":)" title=":)" /><!-- s:) -->
Good for you! I love my long hair and love it on other women. It can be a pain in the summer but I just pile it on top of my head. Do you ever wear yours in braided pigtails? That is how I'm wearing it in that photo. It's almost to my waist again, which is as long as it grows.
• waist length! Whao! My hair's getting super long but nowhere near that long and it kind of drives me crazy. I always put it up and then I'll have it up for a couple days and it gets all knotted because I hate brushing it. I think its getting close to being halfway down my torso.
• Mine is down to my shoulders, and I usually wear it in pigtails, often adorned with red bows.
• I call bullshit.
• OK. Only one bow on my ponytail.
• dont have hair. hair is SO mainstream
• bad hipster
• there are so many interpretations and ongoing definitions of what constitutes a hipster. everyone is a hipster who puts a conscious thought into their style. there should be a video of people who aren't hipsters, that would be more kabluey. hee-ha snooki
•
there are so many interpretations and ongoing definitions of what constitutes a hipster. everyone is a hipster who puts a conscious thought into their style.
Exactly. Whenever I hear people hating on others for being a "hipster" it just bugs me. I came across this comic one day, and it perfectly sums up what hipster actually means. It's all relative to the person accusing someone of being a hipster: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.dustinland.com/archives/archives464.html">http://www.dustinland.com/archives/archives464.html</a><!-- m --> I don't understand why people just can't let others do what they want to do.
• I like that comic. The hipster thing is stupid, just as the goth thing is stupid, just as the skater thing is stupid, just as the hippie thing is stupid. Some people start it by just doing what they want to, then a bunch of other people decide it's the latest rage. It's all bullshit. All the highly stylized clothing and hairstyles makes me want to wear a shirt full of fuckin' holes in it, and NOT stylish holes. Old, worn the fuck out holes. Fashion is idiotic. Don't pay attention to it.
• Right DAVE. Its basically a fitting in thing to me. To be apart of this or that social group. Thats what i mean by "good hipsters". They are themselves. And they are all different, but nonetheless, hipsters.
• Hipster is a type of ladies underpants. Seriously.
•
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.dustinland.com/archives/archives464.html">http://www.dustinland.com/archives/archives464.html</a><!-- m -->
Then again, every label can only exist in comparison. But I agree. It annoys me when people act like they like something just for the sake of seeming different. That's what a hipster is to me. I wish people could just go like what they actually like.
• I don't think hipsters exist. I think people use the word as a defense mechanism.
• I don't think ladies' underpants exist. Then again, all my girlfriends have been pretty weird.
• i try not to do "laugh out loud" posts this was a dumb one so i edited it into a hipster rant. enjoy i think that 'hipster' is nothing more than a made up word to generalize a large group of people, mainly by the way they dress or what music they listen to. I've only experienced hipsters in NYC, so to me a hipster is someone who a) lives off their parents money but still manages to complain about being broke b) usually dresses themselves in strange clothing, for example rain boats on a sunny day in july. c) uses sarcasm in a very snotty way and maintains that they are not being serious or when confronted acts oblivious to what they are doing d) is usually very opinionated about music and or politics, or they are too cool for to care about 'social' issues I have met some people who seemed like a hipster and actually turn out to not be at all. I have been referred to as a hipster and i've had a lot of strange instances involving hipsters but i don't really like to use the word anymore, its really generalized and a lot of people throw it around to describe separate people/circumstances/situations. anyway theres this website called <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.latfh.com">www.latfh.com</a><!-- w --> that has some funny pictures and videos and examples lots of examples
•
Hipster is a type of ladies underpants. Seriously.
you don't have to tell me! uh! i'm a hipster and proud of it! <!-- s>__< --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/mad.gif" alt=">__<" title="mad" /><!-- s>__< --> AND NO I AM NOT BEING IRONIK (ironically enough!)
• I've never been referred to as a hipster. I'm too hairy and weird lookin' for that stylized shit. False pride, anyone? Seriously, though.
• i'm Hobo BOBO chic!
• In my middle school, bobo meant 'retarded' but not so much dumb as dorky and shame-inducing.
• BOBO!
• I've never even heard that term before. And i swear i don't live under a rock
• what, bobo? Probably because it's an upstate NY thing. Really, it actually is. Etymology: From the root word BOCES, which stands for Board Of Cooperative Educational Services. The BOCES kids were the ones that didn't go to regular school, they went to 'skill-building' schools. Way more than you EVER wanted to know.
• no that was good to know because a band called MERCURY REV have an album called BOCES! and now i know!
• all is baley's irish cream creme dream!
