So i'm curious. We're an eclectic group of people here. What concerts have you been to? Who was the most EPIC the most AMAZING? I want to know. Oh yeah, and who sucked balls, so we can be forewarned if we ever go see them?

• I've not seen many. Saw Lightning Bolt and AC last year, both of whom were awesome. Kinda keen to see Pixies in a month if I can.
• AC is pretty awesome. I saw the Pixies in December. I'd do it if you had the opportunity to. The show was pretty spectacular (would've been better if it was a venue that had an actual floor without seats). Well, they at least sounded just like they do on record.
• I'm online trying to buy tickets right now! PLEASE INTERENET!
• I'm having no luck sadly.
• That sucks, man. I wish you luck on your quest! You will get the tickets!
• I hope so! They play on the night of my sister's birthday so it'd be a nice gift.
• that would be an amazing gift!
• #1: King Crimson #2: SNFU there are many, many, many that i do not remember attending.
• since I made this thread, I will list mine. Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon (thank God it was Aha Shake era!), The White Stripes, Tool, Pixies, Hot Hot Heat, Weezer (played most of the blue album!), Streetlight Manifesto I think that's it. All amazing.
• oh god here we go: (watch as my taste in music improves...) spice girls, backstreet boys, 98 degrees, soul decision, janet jackson, britney spears, ricky martin, spice girls (again, reunion tour), nelly furtado, hedley, social code, marianas trench, finger 11, the killers, hot hot heat, afi, billy talent, moneen, antiflag, rise against, MSTRKRFT, you say party, we say die!, metric, panic! at the disco, phantom planet, the hush sound, motion city soundtrack, tool, puscifer, nine inch nails, queens of the stoneage, st. vincent, chromeo, animal collective, yeah yeah yeahs, deadmau5, girl talk, mos def, blitzen trapper, santigold, janes addiction, grizzley bear, silversun pickups, natalie portmans shaved head (x2), kings of leon, decemberists, ben harper and the relentless 7, black moth super rainbow, passion pit, explosions in the sky, owl city, bon iver, of montreal, murder city devils, TV on the radio, mew, AFI (again), three days grace, default, ill scarlett, devotchka, gogol bordello, fall out boy, jacks mannequin, the fray, green day. I KNOW theres a couple in there that I'm missing. I've always wanted to make a list. whew.
• Ha Gogol Bordello.
• I forgot to mention metric in the music list, they're good. You might want to write that list down, if you haven't already. You will forget.
• i know haha, it will be on here for a while i guess, which is neat.
• i'm jealous of a few of those concerts. what an interesting list, that's for sure. Epicly, long.
• So Pixies sold out in about 10 minutes online
• god damn. I'm really sorry for you, Phantom.
• The first concert I ever went to was Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. The people in front of us offered us pot, and we just giggled. I think I was 12? The best concert I ever went to I ended up at an after party with the band and met them and their friends and listened to music and square danced and talked and got really really altered. I started listening to the Pixies right after they broke up! I would have loved to have seen them! Phantom, do you have a ticket re-seller over there? That's how I found a buyer for my extra AC ticket.
• you could see the Backstreet Boys the night before and hide out in a shrubbery.
• back streets back? all right!
• The Raconteurs jam in concert. saw them a couple summers ago and it actually reached a pitch where i thought this has to be what a Beatles show must have been like way back in the day.
• that's amazing, sed. Jack White it something else.
• still regret not seeing white strips in a small club in like... 2001 argh! it was right before fell in glove witha girl hit it BIG then it was too late! making me eye-rate!
• that would be a huge regret for me! Luckily I didn't miss them. It was Icky Thump era, but it was still amazing. I was also pregnant, so my unborn baby got exposed to the awesome vibes of the Whites in mass quantities. He is the coolest kid ever, already.
• woah what the... is this the first time you revealed you had a kid? this is crazy! i hope he digs the AC! [that'd be fun...]
• haha, it might be! I hope he digs the AC too. He sure listens to it enough. Wait. He does. He was dancing to it earlier today. Person Pitch, but still.
• damn and yet i still think of you as a 14 year old girl i blame that grizzly kid! [whom we all suspect isn't really that young because come on... no way] dammit there's this really cool band called NEON INDIAN that i thought was coming round here in spring but now i don't know if it's happening... i sure hope so! ... i really like catching these buzz bands before they get really big and play packed damn shows... but usually even the smaller ones pack 'em in ... i just like SPACE... the few shows i've gone to where it's a band i really like and not many people are there i have such fun... no pressure to get or keep a good spot is the main worry
• I'm a young mom, yeah, but i'm not 14! [i'm also in denial that kiddy griz is 14.] I've heard the name Neon Indian before, never checked them out though. I like the smaller shows because the smaller the venue, the more personal the show is! I like it being packed and jammed in the front. I always make it to the front (unless i'm pregnant). This band called Netherfriends is coming to MAINE in May. I want to go see them, I love their shit. And they are coming to MAINE. People barely ever come here!
• yeah maine is way the hell out there... by the age of 15 i had been to nearly 40 of the 50 states and now i think i have about 9 i haven't been in... maine is one of them... that whole area... vermont new hampshire maryland the virginias ... i don't see me ever getting to them ... i can't remember if the most northern point in the USA is in maine or northern MN ... i swear it LOOKS like maine but because of the shape of the earth it's minnesota... why am i talking about this! "I always make it to the front (unless i'm pregnant)" same here! (hoho!) but no really for some reason that line cracked me up ... haha!!! i can't even imagine how much it'd freak people out at a show if it was crowded and a 9 month pregnant woman was in the crowd...
• Maine is way the hell up there! I have no idea if we're at the top though. Its a great place, i'm stuck here forever, I think. Its special. There are trees everywhere. Beautiful summers and frigid winters. Something about it is magical (I think I say that too much...). I'm going to go camping this summer. I want to go cross country skiing this winter if we get more snow. Swimming in the ocean and lighthouses! Fresh lobster! Come visit, Maine! jsalkfjdsa, somehow this turned into one of those travel commercials. haha, i'm glad you got a laugh! I just stood in the back. It would freak people out, i'd be worried about the woman's sanity, for sure! There was a woman there that looked like she was 9 months pregnant! I hope she didn't go in the crowd!
• Isn't the most northern point in Alaska?
• definitely, Phantom. But if you're thinking continental US i'm not sure if its Maine or Washington.
• I didn't know that Maine didn't have the spot farthest north in the lower 48 until i was camping with family near International Falls MN. a local said they had a spot 40 miles way, called Angle Isle i think, that wore the "crown". I always thought it was maine but maps lie, watchem. Further proof, if you consider all 50 states Alaska is actually the farthest north, west and EAST. northe and west are easy but a couple of the aleutian islands stretch across the date line. so if you're standing on the last island before the prime meridian the next island you see to the "west" is technically 24,000+ miles to the east of you. Bringing this back home to concerts I saw the phish play in limestone maine which is almost as north as you can get in the states. and at a certain point in the evenings one half of the sky was nighttime with stars and the other was clearly still dark blue. and the moon was so huge when you raised your hand toward it you could make it appear as though you were holding a dinner plate at arm's length. and it wasn't due to the dots. i don't think

As a Mainer, I feel like I should see a Phish concert, even if i'm not a big fan of the music. It's sweet that you've been here though! You are entirely right about Maine, sed. Even though I have to drive two hours to get to a mall, and everyone I know lives a half hour or more away from me, this place is special. Its beautiful. I grew up in the woods. I belong there. I felt like I grew up in a fairytale. I always imagined that unicorns could hide out in the forest and no one would find them...(shit sorry, i've been drinking a little tonight). concerts.....yeah
• she ran out in nature....... Half of what phish plays can be crap but the other half has always held the possibility of soaring. what is considered by many to be the best phish jam ever happened in your state. if you don't like the music per se you might find you dig the energy. m --> also saw a moose standing in the middle of a lake in Baxter park on that trip.
• The moose are dangerous here! I have a cousin who lives up north and he doesn't like to drive at night because there are so many. And if you hit a moose, you're dead! I bet I would like the energy. Something i've got to experience. I love concerts anyways. see, I can't even get into that cool video you posted. I'm really just not into that kind of music. Hell, I don't even listen to the Greatful Dead. Probably if I went, and did a lot of drugs, i'd be all set.
• With the Dead drugs are crucial. although i suppose a hit of great weed might even make a zydeco band sound less marginal than it really is. that moose looked at us but more than that he looked THROUGH us like should you punks really be here?
•
And if you hit a moose, you're dead!
ha!!
•
With the Dead drugs are crucial.
Haha, resurrection! No way! You just need to go into it with no expectations, and for most folks drugs help 'em achieve that state. You can stay high, in a way, without drugs, although it takes a kind of work.
• I saw Tame Impala last month and got to stand right next to Wayne Coyne in the audience... he left before I realized who he was and got a chance to talk to him though... I also saw Roger Waters and that was epic. Can't wait to see AC when I get the opportunity.
• can't wait to see AC in may... havent been to a show since november when i saw Deakin.
• I think the best concert I ever saw was probably Pat Metheny Group doing "The Way Up". There have been magical moments at other shows I've been to, but that whole show was electric. Waiting for AC to come somewhere within reasonable distance of South Florida. I'd be willing to drive even up to Georgia to see 'em... C'mon, boys.
• Best concerts I've seen: Sufjan Stevens, The National Upcoming concerts: Bright Eyes next month! Maybe Bonnaroo (I hope, I hope, I hope)
• FEB: AKORN FAMBLY MARCH: BRITISH SEA POWER + E6 HOLY DAY SHOW APRIL: ??? MAY: Profit! [and NEON INDIAN! finally!]
• Sweet, you're seeing Akorn? I heard they were involved in some kind of scandal involving financial advice and prostitution.
• i think yr thinking of Akon [the dude's a con! <artist & vict!> ]]]
• I saw David Lee Roth when I was a teenager.
• I had to look up who that was. Van Halen--sweet!
• Thanks for making me feel old. I suppose I could have felt all underground and alternative, if that was why you didn't know who he was. Oh well.
