She was my eldest dog, 13 years old. She was my first dog as an adult and stayed with me through an awful lot (lots of death and change). I have 5 other dogs but she is my daughter. It is going to be hard because her name is everywhere I am online. Also I will be gone for a week on a top secret mission criminal activity raid where I will be working probably 14 hour days and sleeping in a WalMart. Seriously. For reals. I will tell you all about it, if you want to know, when I return, next weekend sometime. If you bake a cake and take it to the lake, save me a flave-rave, okave?

• I'm so sorry to hear about your dog! I had a lab mix most of my childhood that died at 13 too. Losing an important animal is so incredibly hard, and my heart goes out to you. also, can't wait to hear about this crazy walmart adventure.
• Sorry to hear.
• RIP winnie.
• 53 chained pit bulls: 26 alive, 27 dead. Fighting dogs, breeders, all of them abandoned and left to die. The ASPCA and the sheriff raided and seized and the group I work with, United Animal Nations, cared for them. Because it was a criminal case, we couldn't tell anyone: not even our spouses, bosses, children, friends. There was too much of a risk that word of the raid would get leaked and the "owner" would run, or with these dogs, just shoot them. Here's the link to the press release: http://www.uan.org/index.cfm?navid=693 and here's a photos of me with one of the dogs! • wow, that is horrible. Its wonderful to hear that they were rescued though, and that you help out such a group. I'm just blown away by how badly people can treat animals.
