May Touring

edited May 2009 in Reverb
I appreciate the effort that has gone into this site, I hope it goes as well as the old collected animals forum; so, I thought I might try get some conversation going here... Seeing as they have been recording (I think) the songs from the last tour what are the chances that the next batch of live shows are going to have new material yet again? While it would be cool, might be slightly dissapointing seeing as I didnt even get to see that stuff on the last tour with Avey being ill....

• thanks, for the appreciation as for any possible new songs, i'm not sure, they could probably have some new-new tunes by the end of the year, but the chances of any unreleased material after they just release something new are pretty low, though, i guess they can play some stuff that they decided not to add on the ep/record
• Anyone have any good suggestions of their "top" show picks from the gets section?
• malta, starlight ballroom('07), T in the park, and Gargoyle St. Louis...if they have all those, i havent checked lately

• Well it's May 14th; last night at Terminal 5 was pretty bouncy. Grouper opened up, and it was mellow and some nice reverb drone happening. My buddy and I made it to the 2nd row/line of people, just about in the middle. Opening was Chocolate Girl (about 10mins) and the encore closing was Brothersport (probably the most epic of the night for dancing around). The crowd loved it, the beginning (after Chocolate Girl) was very powerful, something like My Girls, Also Frightened, Summertime Clothes, Slippi and one of their new upcoming tracks lately titled Blue Sky. Over all, the whole show had some great energy. I won't say the crowd was bouncing the whole time, but a few of the songs had them captured, and Brothersport really had them going through the roof. It was defiantly more energy and power driven than the previous Bowery show i saw back in January, but some there still felt like they could have jumped more. It was an incredible show nonetheless and the EQ sound technicians really knew what they were doing, don’t fuck around at the Bowery Ballroom too much cause they can’t seem to figure out how to balance the bass with the mids and highs, Terminal 5 is new and spunky, and the blissful sound is no exception, it sounded great, I hope to find a recording of it soon. Details : I’ll have to recuperate now, Dan Deacon is playing Saturday (early show) at the Bowery, and there will be a hell of a lot more dancing there, hope to see some of you lads there.
• yeah i'm still trying to find recordings of the baltimore and d.c. shows. i will let you know if i find the terminal 5. the picstures of that venue look sick. if anyone's interested check out some pics from the show and my videos on my facebook. ... ef=profile ... 714&ref=mf
• yo i listened to part of that thing NPR had, the recording of them at the 9:30 and who could win a rabbit sounds amazing. any else have recordings from this awesome set list?
• there are recordings of the DC show, but i havent found T5 yet.
• Hey I don't know exactly how this matches up with the other sets they"ve been playing recently but it was definately something that everyone around here has been talking about. The HOB here is new and has been consistently drawing in large crowds. Their performance was intense. The setlist had some pretty good cuts as for what I like.
