Summer Projects

Most summers are very boring for me, so I'm trying to be proactive and come up with stuff to occupy my time - Read a lot - Watch a lot of movies -Play through Final Fantasy VII and The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time -Write letters to my girlfriend who is currently visiting China If you want, give me suggestions for books, movies, video games, and just activities. EDIT: Everybody post your own goals, if you want to!

• Go for walks with some music to watch scenery by. People watching can pass lots of time if you do it right. Also, art! Any kind; writing, painting, drawing, whatever! Creativity makes time fly like crazy.
• good suggestion Grizz, ppl watching is a lot of fun! i saw this movie called Sunshine a while ago. it's directed by Danny Boyle, and it's really crazy and suspenseful. i'll get back to you on books and videogames... btw Ocarina Of Time is an awesome game
•
btw Ocarina Of Time is an awesome game
Yeah I know, I've played it but at the time of it's release I was too young to get past the water temple. haha
• i agree with art. you could make stuff for your lady. also camping and stuff just try to get out of civilization if you can.
•
-Play through Final Fantasy VII and The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
What an awesome goal! I never got into the Final Fantasies but you know, my ex was a die-hard fan, and it seems most of the die-hard fans are in a concensus that VII is the best, if not the best videogame ever. My plans for the summer that don't differ from what my normal plans are: pick up another shift at work hike a lot, excersize a lot make a point to hang out with all my friends that are back from college get my driver's license

I tried it earlier this year, but it was too hard because I always had to wake up early. Now that I have lots of time, I hope it's easier
• this thread got me thinking that maybe i should have some summer goals or projects so here are mine quit smoking decide on a major read different books(i tend to read the same books over and over) record at least one song hopefully 4-5 that's all i got.
• -continue my New Year's resolution of becoming Pie Proficient -build a little hut on the second acre -see more films -help Briana get her license Deadfly, you and Tabelz should come down here for the day! You can meet my pretend daughter Briana and we can go swimming!
• Sounds like fun!! Sadly though, I have a hard time imagining my parents driving me for an hour and a half to spend the day with someone I met online. So, probably impossible until I start driving <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="sad" /><!-- s:( --> As for the goals, I'm also going to play through FFX IF I CAN FIND IT. I know I have a copy around here somewhere...
• I idealize you people into twenty-one year olds.
• That would be ideal, however it is not the reality. I apologize for my unfortunate DOB.
• i'm almost there!
• I shall: -get my license (test on July 8!!) -get a job. I've applied for so many places I have to get a job somewhere, right? D: -do all my summer homework and not wait until August so I don't die at the beginning of the school year again -talk to my SOSP (significant otherly special person) more -listen to the pile of CDs sitting on my desk -read all my feminist books and get eloquent -make a film or two, enter a festival maybe -hug Joanna Newsom
• I love your list, Shinsy! You are very right about the job and good luck with your license!!!!!!!!!!!
• I love the 'get eloquent' one.
• I think SOSP is a great acronym!
• In case anyone was wondering the only goals I finished were beating ocarina of time, watching six or seven movies, writing letters to my girlfriend, and kind of finishing my summer reading. Lolz.
• Are you guys on summer break now? And I'm only guessing this at the top of my head - is it right that term 1 over there begins even before the year finishes?
•
-get a job. I've applied for so many places I have to get a job somewhere, right? D:
It can be so hard to get a job sometimes. I handed out about 20 resumes (which isn't much really) and my last resort was fast food which I literally got straight away. But try your best to get a non fast food job if you can, but Maccas and them should hire you pretty easily and the work isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. Good luck with your job hunting anyway!
• Summer break just ended for most schools where I live. And I'm not sure if I understand the second part, but we just started the first semester of a new school year.
• We generally have 2 "semesters" here, running from Aug/Sept to December, then a 2 or 3 week Christmas break, and then one from January to May/June, depending on if you live in the south or the rest of the country. Being so agricultural (and weird) we start early and end early. Colleges/Universities run on the same 2 semester terms, for the most part, except some run on a quarter system.

And Deadfly and Tabelz are too young and lazy to come visit me.

NONE. D:

Yeah, here we also have two semesters and 2 terms in each semester.
And I'm not sure if I understand the second part, but we just started the first semester of a new school year.
I meant when does first semester of school start? Like here semester 1 term 1 is in Feburary.
• Oh, sorry, I'm so americo-centric. Starts August in the south, September everywhere else.
• Canadian school is the same semester-wise, but always starts in September and ends in late June.
• It's August here too wini, it is in lots of places. Just depends on the district.
•
didn't quit smoking stil have no clue about the major right now i'm just going to a state college to get my grades up, i'm thinking about going to school for journalism or business after this tho didn't read at all but my friend and I have been working on an electronic album all summer, it's been really great to jam and make music every day. when i have some songs mixed down i'll post them on here, i'd love to get some feed back and this place feels good for that
• i'd love to check out your music! I think we are all super into that.
• yeah, except no one wants to hear my country tunes.
• I doooooooooooooo
• Do you have a web cam with sound? We could chat and I could sing them to you. Briana liked them, and she's a 16 year old hip chick.
• we need to webcam chat with each other sometime wini!!!!! I would love to hear your songs!!!
• I do! :0 We should all go on stickam or something.
• Whats stickam? I've got webcam! : p

• we gotta do it some time! If only we were all in the same time zone.....
• if only we could get up higher! i know! we'll use our gliders!
