What Is This Wiki For?
As any other wiki on the web, the main purpose is for a collaborative effort in sharing information, or to compile information so that it is accessible by anyone who is interested in learning about a particular subject. The main use of this wiki, however, is to compound any information that users may have, into one source for anything related to Animal Collective. Anyone can edit the pages and create new ones for any subject that is related to the band. The primary goal of this is to have a full "Gig-O-Graphy" that can be used to track all of the live shows and sets that the band has played throughout their careers.
What's a Gig-O-Graphy Project?
Once again, if you read the above, you should have noticed that the main goal of this wiki is to have an extensible and editable source for a list of shows by the band. If you google the word gigography, you should find various links to several other bands and artists including Radiohead and Bjork. The idea is basically an organization of dates to show the venue (location), tracks played (set list), and even images of the show or links to download a full recording of that show. If you hadn't noticed, the main site already has several shows online and available for download in the Gets section. Moreover, it is possible to write reviews if you were at the show, describing how it was.

How To Contribute
It is easy to make/edit pages with a wiki, all you have to do is search for a few keywords, if they are not found, the wiki will ask you to make a page or to search again, select to make a page and start editing; follow the Getting started links bellow to see how to use wiki the best way possible.
Whenever you see a link in red, it means that an article of that page has not been made, in order to have something there, click on it, and press on the Edit link on the top of the page.
You must first register an account and validate your e-mail address before being able to add or edit any information.
What Subjects Can We Write About?
It is up to you (the editor/user) to decide what you can or cannot write about in relation to the band, meaning that you shouldn't write about Outer Space or some experience that you had: you should edit the real wiki in that case or have a blog. Take note that because this is a site that is viewable by all audiences, try to have some restraints with certain language or subject matters, if anything is not necessary, extraneous, or profane, it may be deleted by others; the practice of common courtesy is highly encouraged.
Acceptable topics could be the following:
- Discography (Though The Main Site already Has this available)
- Nomenclature (A "Dictionary" of Words Pertaining to the Band)
- Animal Collective Band Encyclopedia Article, like Wikipedia's (though it would be redundant)
- Band Member Articles (same as above but of Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Geologist, and Deakin)
- Related Artists
- Paw Tracks Page
- Instrument Article Page, of instruments that they use
